my bad, I did this read this article after 3am so my brain wasn’t at full capacity. you’re right, it even mentions McCartney on music and Lennon on lyrics throughout the whole thing, which does seem possible to me

there’s definitely some McCartney melodies going in there, I think, and that middle eight being his idea is the least surprising thing ever. but those lyrics are pure Lennon through and through, I don’t know why anyone was in doubt over that
glad you liked it! Walla co-produced with Foxing’s guitarist Eric Hudson, and I think they really struck that balance of outside influence and band retaining control, cos holy shit the album just sounds so good
agreed, it’s moving them from “pretty good but just kinda there emo band” to “most dynamic and interesting indie band working today” kind of territory
I knew that Foxing album was gonna be special, I don’t know why but I just had it in my head. Turned out as the most exciting, devastating, life-affirming thing I’ve heard this year or maybe in the past few years. what an album
he doesn’t even have to teach himself to react to a different first name. you’re a genius
And completely sabotage every main character on your show by either outright ignoring the best ones for episodes at a time, and making the ones you still feature unbelievably stupid and boring and unwatchable. Yeah, what happened to that show?
Rose Golden by Cudi featuring Willow is objectively an amazing pop-rap song. say what you want about her brother, Willow can sing
Foxing’s Nearer My God on August 10th will probably be my album of the year if the singles are any indication - they are throwing the rulebook out the goddamn window
I never see this mentioned and sometimes wonder if I imagined it, but I swear the original Nightcrawler trailer had Gyllenhaal’s character saying “if you want to play the lotto, you have to make the money to buy a ticket” like dozens of times with very different inflections (including full-on screaming it). in the…
You should consider watching Season 9, which has the greatest episode on the entire show in it. and uh, the rest is pretty great too
this cover is so, so good agreed
Coloring Book was indeed universally adored by the people in that one chatroom where Clayton asked what they thought about Coloring Book.
I came here to say - I haven’t seen Event Horizon yet, might have waited too long for it to still have full impact on me, but most horror movies seem pretty trite compared to that fucking tunnel scene in Possession
Viggo Mortensen as Roland, please! and Aaron Paul as Eddie. they can shift the characters’ ages up a bit for both actors to fit, the story still works - hell Roland is basically immortal
The House of the Devil, personally. It’s all good but it gets schlocky once the actual horror gets revealed, the first half with the nostalgic vibe and just an undercurrent of menace is fucking awesome
exactly. I think a common theme among the good King adaptations out there is either that they manage to get the characters’ personalities across through their actions without just adapting big portions of their inner monologues into spoken dialogue (I thought IT Chapter One was really good at this, and the excellent…
I don’t think Season 1 is particularly good until the last few episodes, particularly the second last one which really sets the tone for the show to come. having said that it’s fairly important and I don’t know if you’d find the other seasons that easy to follow if you started from 2... maybe read synopses of season 1…
that would actually be awesome, air the first season again but with really subtle differences that aren’t immediately obvious unless you know what you’re looking for. I wonder how people would react to that, haha
Ugh, yes, I’ve been envisioning a proper Dark Tower series ever since I finished the series. Spend 1st season on Wizard and Glass which ends with the war breaking out. half of Season 2 gives us the Wind Through the Keyhole flashbacks and other past stuff building up to Jericho Hill and pretty much everyone else dying…
