Nicole Kidman’s explanation for her unusual clapping makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is her new wrinkle cream commercial (does ANYONE believe her face is line-free and frozen because of Neutrogena ??)

Yeah, I think I’d be ok with it if it was done for food. But trophy hunting? Hell no.
I am the biggest bleeding heart animal lover imaginable, but I don’t know that hunter would be a deal breaker. Pretty much everyone I know, who is not me or my husband, hunts around these parts. I’m really glad my husband doesn’t hunt, but I don’t see those who do as evil monsters or whatever.
Nothing contradictory about being a hunter and an animal lover if you’re hunting in a state that practices strict predator/prey population control. They keep a census of wildlife populations and only issue enough licenses to maintain a sustainable balance. Hunters are part of the wildlife conservation effort in…
There’s nothing rare about grizzlies in Alaska. They’re hunted legally as a part of the animal population control. Alaska Fish and Wildlife goes to great efforts to keep a sustainable predator/prey balance. Assuming her husband is a licensed hunter, he’s participating in a conservation effort as much as a sport.
The Handmaid’s Tale is required reading (I’d also strongly recommend The Edible Woman and the Robber Bride) but man, Margaret Atwood has been the epitome of ‘yr fav is problematic’ lately.
Yeah, it’s a really complicated problem and I can understand both points of view as well.
I think what Sam was getting at was that Black British actors might not have the specific cultural context that Black American actors might be able to bring to American characters. The hard thing is that the British actors who make it America are incredibly gifted bunch and I think we’d be a lot poorer, talent-wise,…
This is weird. While I feel John here, I’m kind of #TeamSam for reasons he doesn’t express at all. It’s not that racism isn’t a problem in other western countries or that Jackson is necessarily right about his way-oversimplified opinion on interracial dating in the UK, but casting Black British actors is a bit of a…
Neither am I.
Gee, the fat (by Hollywood standards) girl jumps on the guy and he dies. How original and funny. Just not amused by fat jokes any more.
I kinda like juxtaposition of the girl in front of the bull, but I’m a bit ambivalent about the stunt itself. I’ll care if these same companies are constantly working towards highlighting the roles women play on Wall Street and not just pulling a week-long stunt for Women’s Day because it’s a BFD this year after the…
Er, how does one even notice that Celebrity X unfollowed Celebrity Y?
The problem is that getting adequate healthcare in the US is not at all the same thing as saving up to buy a new car.
Flat screens are sixty bucks at Rite Aid these days. Update your talking points.
rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and they want to go spend hundreds of dollars on, maybe they should invest it in their own healthcare.
It’s so weird to think about when people were anti-ass. I was there, and I’m young af! It was roughly when “Ally McBeal” was popular.
