I suppose it could’ve been the Giants?

The fumble-out-of-endzone = touchback might be the worst rule in sports. If it goes out of bounds at the 1-inch line, you get the ball on the 1-inch line. But once it’s in the end zone, it goes to the other team?
Trump-iest quote of all time?
As somebody who plays old-school fantasy but never tried daily (in no small part because of how it’s been constantly shoved down my throat for the past year), I really hope these jackasses don’t end up destroying the entire industry.
A pedophile!
I’ve thought the same thing. I think Jay has been around since Wilpon & Doubleday bought the team. And even in the winning years in the 1980s stupid stories like this seemed to happen all the time.
A very interesting article. But how did he never mention having Rendon bunt against the Mets, even with a 3-1 count? That was most inexplicable decision I’ve seen a manager make in a long time. (Full disclosure - not a Nats fan)
Yeah I actually had to rewind a couple times to hear what he said.
So he’s putting up basically the exact same stuff on facebook that he got suspended for putting on twitter. That’s OK, ESPN?
It’s astounding how cheap the production values are on those commercials are considering how they run 1,000,000,000 times a day.
You missed the Mets series in DC, didn’t you?
I very much enjoyed listening to the final Deadcast to be sponsored by DraftKings.
I agree. I know lots of fantasy players, but I think I’ve only met one person who’s even tried daily.
What’s amazing to me is they have all this $$$ to spend on advertising but can’t afford to shoot a commercial dedicated to fantasy baseball. They just show the guys in football jerseys celebrating while the narrator says they’re playing baseball.
I might be the only person in America who plays fantasy baseball but not football. I used to love Berry and Nate Ravitz’s old baseball podcast, but once Fantasy Football took over the planet, neither of them could be bothered with baseball any more. Matthew’s a legitimately funny guy and it’s sad to see that he’s sold…
I’m afraid I’m going to have to take your word on Dilfer. Any broadcast featuring Berman is an automatic mute for me.
Another one for baseball: if the batter fails to lay down the bunt, it’s 100% his fault. Never question the manager’s decision to ask him to do it.
I think they’d get a double-bounce in merchandise sales if they announce they’re changing it in say, a year. Everyone will run out to hoard the old merchandise, then they can cash in on the new name. Win-Win.
I’m convinced TC is the 50th percentile MLB manager when it comes to in-game strategy. He’s not perfect, but compared to Williams he’s, I don’t know, Buck Showalter? Joe Maddon? Davey Johnson?
McDonough’s great. Odd that his profile has declined since being CBS’s #1 baseball pxp guy in 1992-93.
