I’m probably a month behind on watching his channel. But from what I’ve gathered from earlier episodes, it wasn’t necessarily a lack of desire replace the hybrid system, as much as a simplification of the rebuild process.

If I remember correctly, he originally wanted to put the hybrid system back in, but it just

Obligatory:

Ol Tavarish is crazy, like legit crazy, for doing some of the project he does, but I think even he would pass this up lol.  Hell that sat water flood P1 is a big enough project, probably bigger than anyone could likely take on outside of McLaren corporate.

“So how am I supposed to get to work?”

Someone send this to Tavarish to fix.

“So, I uh, reverse engineered the smoldering ashes to turn them back into carbon fiber, made a new wiring harness, hooked it up to to this grocery bag of watch batteries, and it’s as good as new!”

So...also like the BMW X6!

It was short-changed! It had just gotten back from the pool and the water was cold.

And a hideous one at that

The Cybertruck is basically the coupe SUV ie. BMW X6 of pickup trucks. You didn’t buy it for space, utility, off roading, towing, work, ergonomics etc. It is purely a styling exercise.

Well, you get to tell people that you own a ten thousand dollar bicycle

If you were riding trails a lot, on a hardtail, you would notice the difference between a $600 and $1200 bike - mostly the fork will be better, the shifter and brakes will be better. If you then went from $1200 to $3000, you might notice a difference in the longevity and tunability - or you might not, depends how you

Likely first answer would be full suspension. That’s a huge difference right there.

I went from a $600 Rocky Mountain Hybrid to a $5,000 (Canadian) Gravel Bike. I also do casual riding, probably very similar to you. I’m no racer, rarely go more than 50km in a day, I don’t plan routs with extra hills.

On the road bike side there’s a reason the Shimano 105 level of components has been the Goldilocks level for decades.

My buddy owns two bike shops, so I get demo some cool stuff I can’t afford. My take away is it works like anything else.... At the low end moving up brings noticable gains at modest price increases. At the high end it cost a fortune to achieve nominal gains.

Serious question from a low end bike user ($600 Trek for casual riding), how much extra does a bike that cost 10x get you?

Dang that sounds like a seriously cool bike. Honestly I was ready to think it was kinda excessive until you said Omnium and then I understood. That’s a bike you can use to replace thousands of car miles, and will probably last you a lifetime.

73000$ in legal fees ??? good thing he won

The Drive somehow messed up its reporting even though the original source at AutoNews got it right. This is not a fine at all. The owner sued, winning compensatory damages and punitive damages. Punitives are paid to the winning party; they are not a fine paid to the state. The truck buyer’s total award is about $88k,

I’m not a lawyer but,
