Probably took a working transmission from a wreck and did a transplant. Or the transmission problem is one they knew about when they sold it to the main character in this story, knowing it would come back for whatever would cause said character to toss in the towel. I keep watching ethical mechanics and all one has to

If the purchaser is not on the title, why is the state harassing them to carry insurance on the car?

Obviously, selling the car was wrong. What’s weird to me is, how do they sell a car without a working transmission. And why would they have fixed the transmission if the warranty was no longer in force? (12,000 miles was the limit)

Maybe a stupid question, but why didn’t she report it stolen immediately. Because they in fact did steal it from her!

Most likely a BHPH lot that doesn’t release the title to you until you pay off the absolutely absurd amount ($6k for an 18 year old Taurus is larceny!).

This is just theft, followed by sale of stolen goods.  The dealership owner ought to be sitting in a prison cell by now.

the article does not seem to say - but I think the loan was direct with the dealership and not with a bank.

How is this not theft? If I did this to a neighbor and their lawnmower I would be in prison within 3 days.

The cybertruck is a fiasco of an ego project. Can't wait for the bogus robo taxi reveal later this summer. Tesla is basically cooked and Elon is trying to stuff his personal piggy bank while it's happening.

I’m seeing a high number of Tesla’s with some variation of anti-Elon bumper stickers around suburban Boston. A few of my coworkers that have Tesla’s have stated theywon’t buy another one. Killing the brand equity of Tesla and his pet Twitter at record speed!

not disagreeing at all, but people will overlook style and the antics if the price is right. (I happen to like the supercharger network very much, but prefer my cars to have an interior and buttons so I’m not their target customer).

Wait, what’s that about selling at a loss? How important, exactly, is that?

It’s also their outdated stagnated style, and their egotistical chad of a ceo.

And also, there’s a shit ton of used Teslas at this point and they’re dirt cheap. I was just looking at Model Xs and there’s a lot of decent long-range examples with lower miles for well under $40k.

Nailed it.

Don’t forget Tesla doesn’t have the massive army of dealers where they can just dump their inventory. The direct sales feature works great until you lose discipline around matching production to demand.

I’ve said before that Tesla’s biggest advantage was the Supercharger network, but since that’s been opened up to anyone, people who want an EV are no longer funneled to Tesla.

Woke - anything a magatard disagrees with.

I don’t even care if most of that was tongue-in-cheek, it’s a pretty fucking dumb question.  Not quite as dumb as the continual use of the word woke, but pretty dumb.

It’s almost like no one on Dan’s team has ever see the movie Fargo.
