This is NOT a test mule. This is a pre-production vehicle and they are NOT built to break down. They are built to test out manufacturing and design process for all sorts of issues.   Breaking down is NOT one of them.

Usually these tournaments take out an insurance policy that is only used if someone wins. Essentially, the charity collects the entry fees and there is only a payout if someone holes one. The insurance then pays out not the charity.

Exactly. Everything going into the central screen is being done not out of some simplistic design goal, but to SAVE MONEY.
