The fictional reality of Man of Steel was established as quite clearly messy as represented by the character-defining moment where Superman doesn't even save his own adoptive father from death by tornado, because Jonathan doesn't believe that the world is ready to accept an alien with superpowers.

No, he won by virtue of better argument, stronger logic and overall intelligence of his comments.

And I really don't need to see more "female-driven" movies where there is literally one woman and a bunch of stereotypes about people of color.

Marvel Studios seems more open than most to taking risks, so I think there was a pretty decent chance of a Black Widow movie happening eventually anyway, but it definitely seems pretty clear that an action movie starring not just a woman in general, but Scarlett Johansson specifically, will increase the chances of a

Congratulations, I think you finally "out-lengthed" me. That's really saying something, too; I've had many a long-winded discussion here, and have lost many an opponent because they just didn't care enough to read my long and ponderous posts. But, purely in terms of length, I think this time you've finally beaten

He didn't "clearly have plenty of other options", unless he wanted to follow Zod from city to city, having the same type of fight that was destroying property and likely killing innocent bystanders.

As an origin story it makes sense that Superman is inexperienced and must go through trials and lessons to make him the hero he is now known as.

I know Superman has the no-kill rule just like Batman, but again the virtue comes from being strong enough to do it when it's the only way to protect the innocent.

Superman has definitely killed in the comics before, in fact I think he even killed Zod once.

He was willing to kill the last of his own race in order to save the innocent. That's extremely virtuous.

Again I think this works well with DC because heroes such as Batman and Superman are more stoic and represent greater virtues compared to Marvel heroes.

In my memories she was an assistant to Howard Stark and Tommy Lee Jones who carried about papers and tried not to faint over Steve's pecks once they arrived.

Oh well perhaps we'll see the return of sexist bradley cooper...
