I purchased last year the computer glasses sold by EyeBuyDirect.com. They are absolutely awesome! I work in IT and do a lot of programming and whatnot. The glasses are not simply a coating or two, but also the prescription is customized to be perfectly focused at about arms length - the distance I sit from my monitor

“...a wifi-enabled zoom-lens earwax picker...” Da wut?! Do share!

I so want your knife holder!

I think a great article could be developed by Lifehacker that aggregates everyone’s ideas on combining various tech in a house to help our friends and loved ones that are handicapped and/or elderly. You know...what gadgets to mix together and how to set it all up.

My mother will be 87 in June. She has had two minor strokes in the past few years that have rendered her hand and finger dexterity limited. She can’t type and write like she used to do. This is on top of the common things we all deal with at her age, like eyesight, memory issues, and learning new technologies. Amazon

If my house runs out of toilet paper...my home becomes a dystopian nightmare where civilization has completely collapsed. Being without food, water, and even electricity, I can handle. But, toilet paper...

For scanning, I’ve been playing with two free apps. Office Lens by Microsoft, and PhotoScan by Google. Both work very well, with Office Lens actually being a little smoother in functionality than Googles.

I’m 52 and have been a power user geek my entire life. It’s not an age-related thing - you simply work in an office with a bunch of average non-geek cubicle dwellers. Also, they probably are filing things in the envelopes you mention in order to hit the door with it when they leave the company. Evidence, or something.

The vulnerability relies on the use of a remote control app on a mobile device, right?

Thanks! I have been seriously hating on the Facebook app. It doesn't even sync itself with the main site well. The little red badge for the number of notifications still lingers even after you have dismissed them. A small detail that bugs the crap out of me.

It is refurbished, and you have to wait 3-5 weeks. Granted I love the Paperwhite. I bought one for my mom a year ago and ended up wanting one myself - great little reader!

Bought! I just got it for $24.19 with free shipping. When I was going to Checkout they offered me $40.00 off if I applied for the Amazon card. I don't do store cards, but for $40, I figured I could cancel the card later if I decide.

Services this expensive should offer Student accounts. This would be a cool tool for college students and perhaps would build some user loyalty. "You Need a Budget" got me on board that way.

As a dad I totally LOL!!

It was last updated in 2007. Has it simply not needed updating, or just not supported since 2007?

Which works perfectly with the Samsung Note II? I've been scared to even root, for fear of losing the functionality on the Note II.

Yes, I use the period always, and never use the plus sign. I learned it direct from Google. Just do it like the examples you typed in your response. It helps to put the name of the site - I was shocked at who was the source of some of the spam I received - like Sears, etc.. Maybe there's employees getting the info and

For the sites that do not allow a "+" sign in the address, you can use a "." period instead. I do this with Gmail address. I precede the "." with the name of the site/service I'm giving it to. That way, if I start getting trash mail, I know who the culprit is that sold my address.

In my workflow...Evernote is my capture device for taking-in all the fragments of data throughout the day. I then use Onenote to start compiling that data into projects Onenote is the best project starter and organizer ever.

Currently, I have 108. But, I only use 48 frequently - and, out of that, I only use 8-9 daily. Since I'm a developer, the bulk of the apps are just for review purposes. I like to look over other apps that are popular to admire design, etc..
