Most likely. Most of the government unions got first crack at things, even if it didn’t make sense. My wife was in the first wave, because she’s in the healthcare worker’s union...

Don’t quote me on this, but I suspect they may have been just joking.
I just want another entry in the Recoil series. Watching that Trophy Truck bomb around gorgeous locales was always utterly brilliant.
That’s... A super large price jump. Is that perhaps an error?
Always loved this thing, substantially more so than the Bugatti Veyron that came after it.
Yeah, my stock for a lot of things is gone or close to gone by now. The Tenere though... That crap is on a whole other level. I’ve been sold out of my 2021s since April. I have some people putting blind deposits down for 2022s, not knowing if the pricing will remain the same, what colours will be available or when…
Yep. I don’t know who Yamaha hired to do the PR campaign for that bike, but I hope they made a fat bonus for it. It’s just ridiculous what people are willing to do to get their hands on one.
I am the employer in the examples I’m referring to. It costs me $200 a month, give or take, per person for full benefits. Their salary is worth over twenty times that amount, for reference. I know our benefits are likely cheaper than the US, given that we don’t have to account for basic healthcare and hospitalization…
Heck, I know swappable batteries are a thing, they’ve been on Zero Motorcycles for years.
For what it’s worth, Yamaha is *still* riding the wave of Tenere 700 demand, a year and half after orders were opened. I’m sure Harley has a long while ahead before demand falls off.
Hardly surprising. I have never once gotten a Tenere 700 in for stock since the were announced early last year, they’re always presold before they arrive. I’m now waiting to see what my 2022 allocation looks like, on a bike that was already being shown off and sold in February 2020.
Oh for sure, was just letting the OP know that if he likes tweaking the Ferraris, Forza is as close as he’s getting.
Are benefits super expensive in the US or something? Our benefits with my company cost less than $200 a month, and we sprung for the “needlessly over-the-top” kind of benefits. The salary to the employees, for reference, is about $2,500 every two weeks.
I currently run a company. Maybe some of that stuff is more expensive in the US, because the salary is unquestionably the single largest expense for the four guys we’ve got, to the point where all of their combined costs for benefits don’t add up to a single one of their salaries. Hell, training is obviously…
Couple of Toyota Supras would pull a premium one week before race wars.
Forza also allows you to modify the Ferraris as well. Swap rims, add spoilers and splitters, and do whatever you like with vinyls and paints.
Yep, as much as the Carrera GT is my dream car, knowing how up its own backside Porsche is kinda takes some of the fun out of the car.
Honestly, I think a lot of it boils down to complacency from the company. It’s easier just to keep paying out overtime, rather than rock the boat and actually hire sufficient workers.
I say this as a dealer: If you pay over MSRP for a vehicle, you’re an idiot. Look at multiple dealers. And if you’re looking at something that you know will currently be above MSRP everywhere... Wait. The shortage won’t last forever.
Always laugh when companies do this. “We can’t afford to hire any more staff. Therefore we’ll pay overtime on the current staff, effectively paying you the wages of multiple more workers.”
