There are plenty of things that are in a car that are against the “rules” to use while driving.
5 year old me didn’t have the money to buy a real Corvette, but it sent me down the path of being a car junkie. I have test driven a FRC C5 and came very close to buying a C7.
In stock form, most of them are slow because the 70's were a disaster for performance. Emissions standards + fuel economy rules + safety rules = slow.

I don’t disagree, but if you go from driving 50 miles a day to 50 miles a week, owning a gas-guzzler isn’t as big of an issue.
I’ve concluded that the best way to get rid of license plates is to have a crowdsourced, GPS timestamped, realtime database of every police car and government official available “in the cloud” for everyone to query.
