That’s the theory. However, I swear that some people see safety interlock overrides as a personal challenge. Are you willing to assume that “sketchy charging site” still has functional circuit overcurrent protection in place and are willing to use a pair of uninsulated bolt cutters?

You willing to cut through a live power cable flowing 100's of volts and 10's of amps? Please have your next of kin record it and post it on youtube. How do you know if the power cable is live or not?

Electric Subaru: The first flat 4 electric motor with headgaskets!

this. The F-150 sells the most, so it being #1 in total cat thefts or “cats stolen/trucks sold” is two different categories. If there were 50,000 F-150 cats stolen, that’s both more than the total number of Corvettes sold and also only like 7% of total F-150's sold...

Your cars are still too new. Check back in when the typical used EV is 10 years old. I have a pair of 13 year old trucks, and what’s broken/worn out on them hasn’t had much of anything to do with the engine/transmission.

Protip for free: handing your unlocked phone to a police officer in a traffic stop for them to “review” your insurance and registration is an idiotic move. You’re worried about credit card skimmers and you hand your phone over to the cops?

I don’t disagree, but the problem with a plug-in hybrid is you’re back to having two full powertrains, energy storage, and a magic transmission to make it work together. Battery packs big enough to give you any range consume all the space the ICE free up.

Yeah, I think 1nightStan doesn’t own a truck or tools. My truck is quite literally being borrowed to move a bunk bed while I type this. I’m renovating my basement, which means that every 3rd day for the last two years I’ve had plywood, lumber, drywall, bags of concrete, etc, all in the box.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there:

like another commenter, I iRace. I also occasionally crash. Sometimes spectacularly. I’m not above admitting that inside, I’m a 12 year old boy that likes car racing for wrecks. It’s cathartic to watch the replay.

All of the above. Higher compression is more efficient, but increases NOx emissions. More gears help, but we’re at the point of diminishing returns. Weight reduction. Better aero. Reducing engine speed.

At $5900, this is a nice price.

Nah, current trucks still have weak traction in the winter.

why would they put this tcase in a ZR2? You’re 100% right - this is the wrong application for “automatic AWD.”

I’m not saying I like V8's, but currently in my driveway/garage/shop, there are 6 V8's... total displacement around 34.3L.

The only two things that matter on this C3 are:

How about - just don’t touch other people’s stuff? Even (and especially) if the other person might be a law breaking asshole?

“engaging driver oriented cars” - article is about a 6000 pound SUV

I have a 6.2L Sierra. You are not ever mistaking it for a diesel, except maybe at cold idle. Piston slap on an LS is a real thing, especially when it’s cold and has 150k miles on it.

It’s the same reason my new truck can tow more than my old truck which would tow more than the old-old truck.
