It’s really marketing and a bit of engineering.
Wanted to also add that the 4x4 trucks are still spinning the front axles and some of the diff, even in 2wd mode.
Maybe the 2WD gearing used for testing is different?
Um, the 1963 Split Window would like a word with you if you are talking about form over function...
Not all C3's were 165 horse L48's... like the 68-69 L88...
I feel that lap times are part of a “total package” of performance numbers.
“Drop the motor and swap it”? That motor doesn’t look like it drops out, unless you’re dropping the entire rear suspension and transaxle out with it. That’s a crap-ton of work for a cam swap.
Thought about it. Thing is, my two cars were the Trans Am and the Vette.
Whaaaa? Maybe in a turbo application, but the stock cam is always too small.
So, where do I fit in to GM’s plans? I’m 45. I’m a Corvette fanboy since the 70's. (When I was a kid I had all sorts of toy C3 Vettes.) I have an 80. I drooled over the 90 ZR1. I can tell you all sorts of fun facts about every model year. I test drove a 99 FRC. I couldn’t afford one, so I bought a 2001 WS6 instead.…
I think it’s because people can visualize how a manual gearbox works.
My coworker bought a diesel Terrain.
If you’re wearing shoes and a shirt of some kind, why should they care if your pants are actually shorts and your shorts are a speedo?
It’s the second-gen Av, not the first-gen one with all the cladding.
I’m a GM guy. The current Silverado is fugly. They ruined the Camaro nose. It’s not nameplate baggage, it’s straight up design fail.
It’s actually the first car I bought new, with my then girlfriend, now wife.
Yes it can be done at home.
No hockey sticks involved? I’m sorry, but I just don’t believe this is how it happened, eh?
