From Kathleen Kennedy in spring 2015 (i.e., before TFA was even released):

And yet Disney very clearly chose not to tell a new story in TFA. (Which is actually my main source of annoyance with TFA.) Having committed hard to continuing the Skywalker saga in Episode VII, it was hardly ridiculous to expect the remaining films to play out that story rather than trying to shift gears completely

This movie is being produced by Defiant Studios, which appears to mostly produce lower budget horror/thriller films, and it’s being distributed by Saban Films, so there’s no way this is connected to the DC character.

That’s the question I keep asking myself.

And in turn, as pointed out on MST3K, Lords of the Deep was a ripoff of Deepstar Six!

What the hell just happened in that John Henry trailer?!?!?

All movies with Ernie Hudson in them are, at heart, Ernie Hudson movies.

Maybe because it allowed them to focus their attention elsewhere rather than needing to use it for navigating? I don’t know for sure, but I’ll point out that the idea of Force users being able to navigate hyperspace without a nav computer or astromech droid predates Disney. I don’t remember the specifics, but I know

Wow, we’re really just dropping even the vaguest pretense of objective reporting and now openly admitting that the goal of the reporting here is to “get” companies, people, etc. that we don’t like, aren’t we?

Having seen the film now, I can definitely say it is a better film than TLJ, especially given that many of the weaknesses that are in RoS are pretty clearly the result of Abrams needing to get the story back on track after Johnson ran the whole thing into a ditch. And yes, there was a lot of fan service in it, but,

I’m taking it to the next level: I am now motivated to become a mass murderer in hopes that Daisy Ridley kisses me before I die.

“Rey...? But what’s your family name?” LOL who asks that?

It’s not an especially romantic kiss.  I’d attribute it more to the emotion of the situation than any sexual desire on Rey’s part for Kylo/Ben.

The new films have FUBAR’red hyperdrive travel in so many ways it’s not even funny (entering/exiting hyperspace in atmosphere in TFA, changing directions in hyperspace in RO, radio communications in hyperspace in RO, and whatever the hell the “hyperspace skipping” is that we see in RoS, but I actually don’t begrudge

I think the backwards time stuff actually starts at 10 seconds — they are falling “up” the building. That’s why their movements look wonky relative to what it should look like if they were being hoisted up or actually climibing the building and also explains why they start from a lying down position.

What about us people who honestly think all Star Wars kinda sucks?

Because it was a desperation move that only came to them at the last minute.

When several of these “reactions” are identical word-for-word, their scripting becomes obvious. Normally they’re a lot more subtle about this kind of thing.

“I find your lack of faith disturbing”?

Look, if we don’t respond to their demands, we all know what happens next, right?
