Most of these movies date their sci-fi future way too early.

I will always find it crazy that stuff like this, and Neuromancer anticipated so much ....but not wireless technology.

I’m critical of overuse of the term “franchise” (hello, Flight of the Navigator, which got described in a bunch of outlets as a “franchise” when Colin Trevorrow was hired to do a remake) but I think Frozen already qualified as one because Disney’s released a ton of original material set in the same fictional universe b

I thought this was going to be about how the police successfully removed the emojis and other alterations from the photo posted on-line to reveal the thieves’ identities. Finding out that the police just got the unedited picture off the suspect’s phone is a lot less exciting.....

This is a little different in that there’s actually a specific date being announced. I’m pretty the Flash movie has never been given anything more specific than “in the next two years” or something like that.

That roundtable deserves to be in some sort of journalistic hall of shame.

This article broke my irony meter because you get to pick one: (1) YouTube creators unionize to force YouTube to make specific rules about when and under what circumstances content is demonetized or removed and with notice and due process for the creator to challenge the decision; or (2) YouTube is able to swiftly and

Not unlike the fight with Darth Vader and Obi Wan, Obi Wan very clearly calls him Darth, as is his first name, and not a title. It was only later Darth became a title

I have a lot of problems with TLJ, but I agree that most of them could have been fixed with just a bit of additional dialogue, including the one you mentioned.

What YouTube did the “freeing the horses and leaving the kids behind” complaint come from? Seems very cinema sins. What in the world were they supposed to do with those kids? Release them in the wild with the horses? Bring them back to the doomed Resistance? Take the time (they have less than 24 hours) to fly to

Shots fired! Shots fired!

And Rogue One, definitely Rogue One.

I’m not familiar with The Final Programme or Flashman, but there supposedly is a Doc Savage film reboot that Shane Black and Dwayne Johnson are attached to, but which has been stalled for a while: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doc_Savage#Reboot

LOL! I would enjoy watching the carnage as courts mowed down any prosecutors who tried to bring such bullshit claims. As a privately owned platform, Facebook can ban political advertising if it wants, but if Facebook has criminal liability for false statements in political advertisements then so does every television

right now the average age of this 52nd Parliament is 49 years old

+1 I had an Amazon Prime membership years before streaming video became a thing for Amazon. Streaming video is a pure bonus item tacked on to something I’m already paying for, which is why Amazon is the only streaming service I use.

+1 I’m generally skeptical of the value of autonomous vehicles, but as a pedestrian who actually obeys walk signals, goes to the intersection to cross, etc., I don’t have a lot of issue with them brushing back jaywalkers.

Stylistically it reminds me of the BBC’s “Day of the Doctor” trailer:

TIL that new Xanth novels are still being published. (I seriously had thought Piers Anthony concluded the series a decade ago or more.)

The best kind of magic, really.
