+1 I didn’t like Dumbo at all as a child — it was too scary, too sad, and the purportedly uplifting (no pun intended) parts really seemed shallow and were too little, too late to save the story.  I can’t even begin to process the idea that there are people excitedly looking forward to a remake of it.

I feel like the experts are taking the term “permatripping” too literally. If I knew someone took psychedelic drugs and it caused the onset of catatonia, schizophrenia, or another persistent psychiatric disorder (which 3/4 of the experts quoted in this piece say is potentially possible), I would absolutely describe it…
