They refuse to watch movies that don’t have predominantly white casts and relegate women to sex objects or plot devices.

You know it’s not actually a contradiction to disapprove of some aspect of an artist’s or other creative individual’s life while still thinking their artistic work has value and meaning, right?

Hell ya! These other commenters are all too young or too serious to pick the really fun Disney properties as answers for a question like this. My suggestion was going to be Never Cry Wolf (yes, full frontal male nudity in a Disney film)!

I do have to take issue with one frequent line of criticism of the original movie that tends to crop up these days, including throughout this comment thread, and that’s how a lot of people keep claiming that “it wasn’t actually that good” or “the only reason people like it is nostalgia”.

It would have been better without the running jokes about Moore’s character’s clumsiness. It just got cringeworthy after a while.

And of course the whole effort usually reeks of a corporate cash-grab (although to be fair to Dan Akroyd, he has been sincerely, if crazily, pursuing a Ghostbusters sequel for decades).

We don’t know it’s the R5-D4. We just know it’s a R5-D4.

Lillian’s worldview that the #MeToo movement has hindered guys’ abilities to pick up women is literally textbook incel rhetoric and never really goes challenged by the episode

Lovecraft feels like one of those authors that should have more adaptations than he does.

That was probably before Kickstarter demonstrated that anything with the name “Lovecraft” slapped on it rakes in the bucks.

Uh, even if Malek knew, who cares? I don’t judge actors by the directors they choose to work with unless the actor is such a big name that they can pick their own projects at will, which definitely doesn’t describe Malek’s status at the time he signed up for this film.

The block is especially tough on my one-year-old daughter, Ellev, both because the Echo provides the sole source of music in our household and because Ellev is obsessed with three movies (Coco, Monsters Inc., and The Incredibles), all of which we usually watch either through Netflix or through videos purchased via

Or, you know, it would require Marvel/Disney to submit the film for consideration in that category in the first place, which I suspect they didn’t.

Black Panther also got ignored for adapted screenplay

Keep in mind that the current president got to that position after it was revealed that the former president was an alien and resigned. We might reasonably assume that the administration is being purged of cabinet members and other personnel who had been hired at the former president’s direction due to concerns about

In fact, is that Kara’s apartment repurposed?
