Incorrect, O’Brien came out and explicitly stated the decision to fire her was made right after she attacked the community. They couldn’t, however, because it was 4th of july and they were all on vacation.

Good thing this is kotaku, a site about gaming news and events. This is relevant to gaming, and a good read for a small dev team before they let a similar problem occur.
Kalameet would be great.
I thought that’s what Val Hazak translated to..
I wanna see Ebreitas, Daughter of the cosmos, in MHW.
Capcom, Fromsoft, let’s do this.
He wasn’t really telling her how to fix it, that’s the point. At no point did he say “GW2 has a problem and this, I think, is the fix.”
What he said was that her post was insightful and interesting, but one ideal he had that could solve the problem, at least for him, was [this].
You gotta check out the Hoax Hotel.
No worries, it was the weekend and I am sure you had better things to do than check back here.
That’s not what she said though, she made it clear it’s because she’s a woman that this man told her how to do her job.
It is consistent if you believe that some things should get you fired but others shouldn’t. Racism or sexism? You can get fucked.
I wasn’t making one at all, whether you want to read it as such or not, so awareness is not an issue. There wasn’t there any cherry picking no matter how many times you say it either.
I didn’t cherry pick, I’m sorry if this is so confusing for you. If all the cherries are removed from the fruit bowl and there’s no fruit left in the bowl it’s no longer cherry picking. It’s emptying the bowl.
That’s great, I wasn’t using it as a euphemism. So accusing me of doing so is dishonest.
She wasn’t being challenged, that’s the thing.
Wrong again.
I’ve clarified my exact issues with this situation a few times, but I’ll gladly do it again here:
Yes, this sucks. She behaved poorly and was fired for it. That should be the beginning, middle, and end for this story.
Unfortunately, the idea that “you shouldn’t do what is right because the outcome may result in some things that are bad” is a bit of a fallacy.
That would be called speculation.
People typically are thrilled when someone’s old, offensive, racist tweet gets drudged up causing them to get fired. There’s a number of articles on kotaku (a recent one that springs to mind is the Subnautica Sound Designer) in which their reporting was much more positive with regards to what happened.
