Maybe if you actually knew what you were talking about, people would take you seriously. Google Andre Agassi and his clothing at Wimbledon. Then come back and revise your statement.

Exactly. People need to be objective and actively try to avoid hypocrisy in situations like this. Being a true progressive requires such traits. But way too many supposedly “liberal” people are changing the rules for Serena, and are way to quick to label people as “racist” without evidence or thought.
Exactly. The crowd and the media all eat up every single word that Serena says, without even thinking about it. Pathetic.
And why was some random tennis player on CNN? Right, because he/she agreed to feed the narrative about Serena being robbed somehow, when it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
The umpire that talked to Kyrigos has been (rightfully) criticized by EVERYONE for what he did. Nobody thought it was appropriate or proper, and I’m sure that umpire will have a hard time moving past it. Terrible example for you to use.
No, the only “fuckup” here is on your part, because the conversation you mentioned happened AFTER the violation was already given. And Serena knew that, hence her ridiculous claims of innocence and a “thumbs up” that never happened.
Yep. That’s good old-fashioned bullying, but none of her supporters want to recognize that. Even the union people are ignoring that...
Very well stated. There are tons of people out there commenting when they don’t have the first clue about the sport, or the past examples they are trying to cherry pick from.
Also, most athletes become familiar with the regular officials for their matches, and so they typically know which ones are stricter than others…
Nonsense.
Except that she doesn’t. That’s a myth.
What? A “larger question about how her body is regulated...” Whaaat? Smashing a racket is a penalty for EVERY player, male or female, black, white or whatever color...
Makes you wonder what else she would be willing to do in order to avoid the humiliation of defeat. Her attitude is every similar to that of Lance Armstrong’s, and we all know what lengths he was willing to go to.
Thank you for posting that. This video puts about 99% of the nonsense being written, even in such publications as the NY Times and Washington Post, to bed.
But she isn’t tested more than anyone else. That’s a myth. Some of the, wait for it, men’s players were tested more than Serena! My word!!!
What bias? Do you even watch tennis? Stop making things up.
I love all the hypocrisy coming from so-called progressives on this issue (I’m a real progressive, BTW, which means I recognize the value of intellectual honesty).
Here we have an incident of Serena being a bully, and this isn’t the first time we have seen it. And yet she is being praised by the very same people that…
Go back and watch some video of the famous “You cannot be serious” incident. It actually looks really tame by today’s TV standards, almost disappointingly so. Serena’s outburst was longer, and more directly accusatory and inflammatory with regard to the umpire. Plus, nothing would have happened if she hadn’t smashed…
Were you even watching? She broke Osaka, and then Osaka broke right back. Osaka was thoroughly dominating her, and that is why Serena freaked out.
Serena is just the tennis version of Lance Armstrong.
Super Mario Brothers reference.
Good to see nobody has mentioned White Castle, because White Castle is amazing. It’s everything that Shake Shack is not, and that’s a wonderful thing.
