You obviously don’t know animation history OR Disney films. Sure, a small handful of them had princesses, but 40 or so didnt. the strengths of the medium do no such thing. Its all about story. dozens and dozens of CGI films have come and gone, most of them absolute shit. And Pixar’s stories absolutely do not include anything that ‘can’t be done’ in traditional animation. Its just an easier way to do it.

CGI did nothing to enhance animation - It just made it prettier and shinier. In that, it destroyed the art of traditional animation. Pixar’s films would be just as wonderful and popular if they had been made in 2D.

I would say that it wasn’t live action - it was an animated film with live action actors blue screened in. So more like a CGI version of Space Jam. But reselling the plot of Ferngully.
