I agree with this post. It’s not a perfect movie, but I find it amazing how many balls it manages to keep in the air, and how fast it moves for a two and a half hour spectacle. I would also like to credit the Russos for their ability to direct action sequences. They stage huge setpieces with mostly CG characters, but

I think she sheds some great light onto the issue. My sister has incredibly rough pregnancies that kinda take her out for pretty much the entire duration and couldn’t imagine working on a fixed schedule, especially not an intensive one like how film sets can be. I think a lot of people have similar points of reference

Yeah, I love just how uncomfortable Maguire seems all the time. His awkwardness is charming and relatable, really selling him as this insecure kid who was uncomfortable with himself before his powers, let alone after them. I think Tom Holland is perhaps a more fitting Spider-man and I understand those who dislike

Funny that you make that comparison...

And the winner is....Venom!

I am still unconvinced that it isn’t some giant mutant turtle that has been enslaved by the DeVoses. One day it will walk free.

I can see the totally non-condescending ads for Black Panther now!

I thought that money was the award for popular films?

Also Elijah Wood in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I think they are markedly better than McDonald’s sandwiches. Wendy’s is a bit closer in quality and is cheaper, so I would usually prefer to eat there in general, though.

Though things sound especially bad at Riot games, I kinda assume that the vast majority of big-ish game development companies have pretty similar workplace environments.

I think as far as fast food goes, it’s pretty good. Their chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and milkshakes are all great, and I can’t think of any other fast food places that top them. They also have a really good selection of sauces, and their healthy options still manage to be tasty. However, I have some friends who

The Chick-Fil-A I go to in DC has some pretty prominent gay pride posters and a bulletin board with ads for LGBT events. The founder may be pretty homophobic, but, given that it’s a franchise, each individual location can be pretty different.

That makes sense, and honestly, it seems to me like things haven’t gotten much better for Latin american actors in hollywood.

Could part of it be due to her success as a pop star? I think her history of mediocre rom-coms and as singing contest judge make it more difficult to see her as a dramatic actress.

Good write-up. I feel like most of these articles on good-but-not-great romcoms has made me feel less averse to watching them when friends suggest them, for which I am grateful.

Yeah, I see something as a “hot take” when someone very briefly brings up a contrary opinion that they phrase as fact and don’t provide any support for.

Thank you for popping in with that hot take!

Ben Gibbard is too old for that haircut.

I met all the kinda-sociopathic people I mentioned in the same job. Sociopath may be exaggerating things, and I was fortunate enough not to have the kind of prolonged trouble that you mentioned. As you explain it, though, I do agree that individuals’ sexual frustration can be hard to hide and we should be more
