What is this article? It isn’t a review, but just effusive praise for the album based on what other critics have said? Is it an ad?

Yeah despite a couple of attempts I’ve never been able to get into Critical Role. I did watch a couple seasons of Dimension 20, which I found a bit more fun and approachable.

I thought he was so oddly charming in Promising Young Women (until he wasn’t) that he could be a great romantic lead in a more conventional romcom. I’d watch it, at least.

Probably for the best. I’m sure he would have done a good job but I’d rather he have time to spend writing/directing/maybe being a lead in a romcom.

I don’t have too strong of an opinion on Antonoff in general, but his work on Clairo’s new album is absolutely gorgeous.

Agreed. I think Dessner is great, but he has not shown much interest in producing big pop anthems, and I wouldn’t say we’re in need of more big pop artists “going indie.”

Maybe the guy just legally changes his name to “Ur Dad” because he thought it would be funny.

Patel would have been a good Kylo, but for as little as Adam Driver resembles Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, Patel would take things a bit out of the realm of believability (unless he was adopted, which honestly would have been a neat wrinkle in his character).

It was an odd choice, for sure. I think the main reason why people cared about HIMYM was that it was earnestly romantic while still acknowledging that the journey to finding love was long and painful. That didn’t necessarily depend on the mystery behind who the mother would be, but it’s kind of hard to have that

Yeah sure, there’s a few different ways they could play around with it, but the twist of the pilot seems to be going for a reverse of the twist of the HIMYM pilot. Here we’re conditioned to think the romantic interest in the first episode isn’t going to be the parent because that was the case in HIMYM, but then woah,

Watching the episode it is made clear that he is actually the father. After friend zoning the guy she says “Your dad took it like a champ” and it pans over to the photo.

The difference is that Endgame can make double its $300m budget in its opening international weekend. Tracking the profits for a subscription-based television/streaming service is trickier.

Works for me!

This one definitely snuck up on me. I enjoyed Immunity, but boy is this a gorgeous album. Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far.

This kind of reads to me as someone saying that times can’t be too bad for Black people because Black Panther was a hit.

Some people take to the LSAT incredibly quickly. I know people who have gotten scores in the mid-170s (Harvard range) after a week or two of studying.

Only knowing Majors from the few episodes I’ve seen him in Lovecraft Country, I will say that I was absolutely floored by his performance here. This episode should not work at all, but it does largely because he gives such a layered and charismatic performance. I am incredibly excited to see him pop up as different

Hopefully Emily in Paris can get the recognition it deserves after its snubs at the Golden Globes.

Micaela Coel, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Kate Winslet would each be clear frontrunners in just about any other year. But I’m guessing Winslet wins it on name recognition.

Agreed. And I don’t think I get the people who take Penny Lane’s saying that she’s 16 to William literally. She’s obviously joking about age; I believe the extended cut even has a scene celebrating her birthday where the mystery of her age is kind of a joke.
