1) Lotta angry straight dudes up in this comment section.

Wonder looks interesting. I’m not sure I’m 100% on board with the art style, but it looks creative, and I’m ultimately glad Nintendo’s still making 2D Marios.

Really pissed off the AI bros with this one. The impotent ad hominems are out in force. :O

It’s disappointing for sure. I attended E3 in 2016, got to play Mario Odyssey, and got to attend an event where the MachineGames devs sat down to discuss the upcoming Wolfenstein game. The whole atmosphere and experience was brand new for me — it was the first convention of any sort I’d ever attended — and I really,

It’s nice to see things in motion sometimes. A custom model is worthless if the animations are jank or if it looks like garbage from a specific angle, or the textures flicker in certain lighting, etc., etc. Quit being a malcontent. It’s a 1 minute video demo.

Bummer! Also, cool! I would have liked it to be part of some larger mystery, but ultimately, when modding reaches the state where it’s indiscernible from the main game, it’s a great thing. Hope these folks’ mod turns out good. As someone else mentioned, I think the coolest thing about this is that Yoko Taro got in on

Very cool. I love little mysteries and hidden spookiness like this in games. It’s something that’s been sorely missed in this era of datamining and crowdsourcing secrets. I remember back in the day, the mystique surrounding things like the Ice Key and Eggs in Banjo-Kazooie, “can you actually bring Aerith back from

Ethics in Lego brick journalism!

Oh yeah, I’m not super referring to just general landscaping. I’m a modder for Skyrim — I know that at best, that stuff is only partially hand-built. And beyond that, just walking through the countryside in Oblivion doesn’t hold me very much (Same for Skyrim, to a lesser extent). Procedural generation tends to result

Yeah I kinda agree there. I think it depends on how intricately detailed the cities are, how many “towns” and “villages” there are, and so on. I mean, let’s be real -- Morthal was a “city” in Skyrim, and it’s legit like 5 houses. If these cities are actually *cities,* and the rest of the world is scattered with

I wouldn’t even give it that much credit to be honest. It wasn’t spinoff material. It was fanfic-level. Borderline ruined the rest of the game for me. Hoping against hope the second part remains more grounded.

I’m on Safari, and I think it would be the very first time that something worked on Safari but was broken on other browsers, instead of the other way around.

Having hand-crafted planets clearly marked allays some of my fears. I think that even with that, though, the idea that they hand-crafted the entire planet is silly. So it’ll be sort of a wait-and-see to find out how much there is to do on each tailor-made planet and how much of them is *also* procedurally generated.

I was disappointed they didn’t show more, but I guess that just tells me how excited I *still* am for this game if/when it’s released. The level of detail and polish that’s been added since the original trailer was really impressive though. Can definitely tell Team Cherry hasn’t been asleep at the wheel the past few

I was able to turn the volume down just fine, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry it didn’t work for you.

I think it looked pretty good! I share everyone’s concern over the sheer quantity of entire planets to explore though. One of my problems with the big dungeon addition mods in Fallout 3/New Vegas/Skyrim is that they feel empty and non-engaging and just sort of boring after a while. I’m worried about that happening

I’m kind of in the same boat; however, the silver lining here is that it really opens up the space that we have to make mods, add new dungeons, new dlc-sized quest mods, new stories, new environments, new weather, new hazards, new enemies, etc. without stepping on the toes of other mods. Even if this does end up just

Seems like there’s a lot of dedicated co-opers out there. I’ve been cosplaying as Blaidd for some time. Grinded 10,000,000 runes helping people on Maliketh, and have now grinded another 30,000,000 runes helping people on Radagon/Elden Beast. Disconnects notwithstanding, it’s a good time, especially on bosses that

“Listen, Russia should be allowed to invade and occupy a sovereign nation, bomb schools and hospitals, and murder thousands upon thousands of innocent people in horrific manners to further the interests of Vladimir Putin and line the pockets of Russian billionaires, because the US has done shitty things too.” Yep,

It’s definitely not only a problem with Malenia. I do a lot of co-op on Maliketh and Radagon/Elden Beast.
