I’m saying they don’t, and in the case of the antiemetic grocery store cashier I doubt that a statement like that is going to show up on a background check even if they did one.

I think you over-estimate how thoroughly banks and grocery stores do background checks.

    Conservatively?  Maybe 10%...

Hundred million dollar Netflix film The Midnight Sky, which debuted during the pandemic. On a four year hiatus before then because he made a billion dollars selling a tequila company.

So did several hundred other people across 86 categories.

Indeed. These “cancel culture doesn’t exist” people really seem to misunderstand what most people mean by the term. By any standard Mel Gibson (a man formerly a major star on the level of a Tom Hanks or a George Clooney) has by any reasonable standard taken a massive (and probably deserved) career hit because of his

Kind of, yeah.  Remember, Hulu started as a repository of network TV content meant to be watched basically the night after it airs, so it’s likely that there is a certain degree of trust in the system and benefit of the doubt given to local news teams.  This likely just performed much better than your average local

“What appeared to be a Hulu original documentary, with its own branding and description, was actually be an investigative special from Houston’s ABC13/KTRK-TV news station which originally aired on November 20.”

Why does it matter if Idaho is a “nationally, politically relevant” state? It’s relevant to the people who live there and they’re the only ones who would get to vote for their governor, they’re kind of the only ones whose opinion would matter.

If Cynthia Nixon ran for governor of Idaho, who would care?”

    Didn’t Schwarzenegger get re-elected?

Yeah, I’m not super sure who else is out there in Texas politics to run, but a McConaughey run seemed to be within the realm of the “what do we have to lose” and the “maybe crazy enough to work.

Roman Polanski has not been nominated for a Golden Globe (or an Oscar) since 2002, which if my math is correct is 19 years.

Why Larry Hoover of all people? The dude by all accounts founded a violent gang, is in prison on a state level for ordering the murder of a teenager (his guilt in this is seemingly not in dispute) and federally for continuing to run his criminal enterprise from behind bars (again, I’ve heard no serious argument

I’ve heard that he is in fact covered in fur whenever the moon is full...

There are a lot of boomer rabbitholes I’m willing to follow Martin Scorsese down but this might be a bridge too far...

We seem to have very different definitions of “thug.”  A criminal carrying a firearm with intent to engage in violence if need be would certainly qualify in my book.

Biggie did in fact sell drugs as a teenager and got a five year probation sentence on a weapons charge in 1989.
