I more get these vibes lol

Everything in this article makes me think about the classic joke by George Carlin.

As always, the Simpsons did it first.  Take that reality.

The author of the Yu-Gi-Oh manga just passed away at only 60 in an apparent snorkling accident.

Yep—Itano was the director/choreographer of mecha combat in DYRL, so the “director” that Kitakubo references is actually almost certainly Itano himself lol.

I didn’t mean to suggest that he did. He wasn’t even a key animator, he was all of 21 years old in 1984 and was one of many animators (he entered the anime industry full time at 16, having never went to high school—mandatory education ends in japan at middle school).

He didn’t say in his answer, but I’m guessing a lot of hours crammed into all too few days based on the anime industry’s traditional approach.

On Quora Japanese, anime director and key animator Hiroyuki Kitakubo is a frequent writer. he worked on Macross: Do You Remember Love, and he talked about animating this specific scene’s missiles.

Kind of crazy that almost 20 years after release, that buggy mess of a game remains a buggy mess of a game.  Everything about that game felt like it had tons of promise, then completely botched the landing.

Speaking as a former divorce attornery, this isn’t an uncommon reason for divorces.

FF7R was a little over 100GB of hard drive space.  A CD-ROM held  680MB.  So, FF7R alone would take roughly... 147 disks.

I think if there was a way for in-person game stores to exist, it would have to go the opposite route as gamestop. Not 3000 stores nation wide that are hawking profit guzzling but customer infuriating “memberships” like buzzards on the unwary.

Because to conservatives: Racism doesn’t exist, therefore being woke to it’s existence must be a lie.

Rent works a little different in Japan, since you generally pay about a 3 month rent non-refundable “deposit” (called “rei-kin” or “key money”) to rent the apartment, which amounts to thousands of dollars in a place like Aoyama or Roppongi. There can be a refundable or non-refundable additional deposit as well.

I live in DC, and I spent 3 years living in Tokyo (Roppongi—next door to Aoyama). They’re pretty comparable, if anything Tokyo can be a little cheaper rent wise.

Jeez that was 12 years ago?  I feel old.

I respect that

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is pretty nice to non-paying and low-paying players. It’s a Japan only release with no Englsih translation or American release (I got it through a google Japan account I set up when I was living in Tokyo).

Having an opinion in an opinion column is literally the point.

I think you’re confusing news articles, which are supposed to be unbiased and neutral, and opinion columns, which... express an opinion.

I’m not disagreeing with that, but I have a hard time understanding why you are so intent on denying the idea that a criminal suspect in the US could pull a gun at any time, while a police officer in Japan has no worries about a gun when a suspect reaches into a pocket might have an imapct on lethal police shootings.
