That’s faster than I want to go on a road bike. My personal best was 45 mph on I-405 in Portland during the Bridge Pedal on a commuter bike. With a closed road you can safely hit serious speed off the Fremont Bridge.

So, I have a question.
This has to be one of the most intelligent comments I’ve ever read on Jalopnik. Thank you for that.
4th gear: Both of them would’ve been done and dusted long ago if not for the fact that Republicans can’t be bothered to lift a finger to help America and two Senate Democrats are using the occasion to go on extended ego trips.
I’m assuming Alex works at Mattel. I was there for about 10 years. You can’t imagine the cool stuff that would show up in the parking lots.
The Ford Flex is a BOSS. A $600 Livernois ECU tune can get you into the 12's in the 1/4. You’ll give nearly every modern car a hard time between lights except for big boy V8's and even then the AWD will likely catch them on poor asphalt.
My DD is an EcoBoost Flex. Had it nearly ten of its twelve years of existence (early 2010, so one of the first EB Flexes).
The tires shipped with the production Grunt are not DOT rated, they specifically state “for off road use only”. And they’re 25x8x12, not 26x8x12 as stated in the article. Volcon actually had the tires custom made with their logo as a motif in the tread, which is kind of silly but fun.
Good luck on that Idaho / Washington stretch. Three mountain passes, including some of the trickier roads along the length of I-90. As a side note, I learned to drive stick on 4th of July Pass, and if you drop below 80 mph at any point, you’re a pansy.
The school of hard knocks never gives out a diploma. You’re never done learning things the hard way if you’re an…
OK, I want the shit out of this. Six grand for an electric all-terrain motorcycle that can do 60mph and travel 100 miles? Sign me right the fuck up. I never even knew I wanted something like this but I’m already saving money for it. Something like this would be incredible for trips into the backcountry, where you want…
Always a thrill to see an article about the Ridley Scott Superbowl commercial.
No kink shaming, LOL
I will never fully understand your Smart obsession, but goddammit do I respect you for it.
Sounds like a nice drive. Did he take the top off?
We’re already seeing battery powered heavy equipment - dirt moving tractors, excavators, etc. They actually substantially reduce costs to operate and if you’ve run them much you know that they usually don’t take a lot of fuel to operate, so it’s a perfect place for battery adoption. But I agree for some industries…
This. Trucking industry needs to have no range limits. Local deliver, sure, works all day long. Long distance....you need unlimited range. A driver can drive for 11 hrs. At 60mph, thats 660 miles before a driver change. A number of carriers utilise two drivers for around the clock transport. One sleeps while the other…
No excuses. RPN on that is >100 even if this is the only car that had the defect.
Thank you!
Just try not to leak too much coolant!
I’m taking the New York Bar Exam on Monday... twenty years after graduating law school, and not having practiced law since then. I expect to fail just as miserably as your minivan has failed the TUV. But I will continue undaunted and try again and again until I pass because I am the David Tracy of law. You are my…
