Growing up in Vancouver, driving a motorcycle across Portland bridges, let alone a pedal bike on Fremont, is terrifying! That bridge always scared me as a kid, but is incredibly impressive being under it on a boat.

I know I am in the grey and buried but please please mention that the best driving road is one nearby that you can actually drive! If you have not seen this website ( https://roadcurvature.com/ ) you are missing out. Its a gem and I am not affiliated in any way. I just love driving.
I never liked them much until I bought a used 2013 ecoboost. The longer I have it, the more I like it. 75k of trouble free miles, plus deceptively quick!
Alfa - Have you opened it yet? Mine should ship next month. I had a question about the weight. I am hoping it is closer to 250 lbs vs the 330 lbs that was mentioned in the article. Any chance you can put it on a scale?
As a former Washingtonian, I am not sure about the differences in rust and humidity between there and Michigan. I do know that when I went to buy a junkyard 1964 Fiat 600D (with its sweet suicide doors), pushing the clutch pedal caused a chain reaction. First my foot depressed the pedal and the pedal broke ripped the…
Thanks for the good explanation and linking to Engineering Explained. I learned this lesson firsthand with the first car I had to buy tires for.
I became an engineer because of how low they set the bar for vehicle repairs. Basically saying, “I can do that better!” Decade later, I still love wrenching and what I do at work.
Thank you for sharing!
55 mph? What semi runs those speeds? Everything around here (Northern Utah) is 80 mph speed limits. You would be lucky to make it through a 6 hour day for LTL. Tesla truck will only be good for regional/in town use. Which is also where the most population and pollution are together. Win for Tesla, but a big loss for…
PREACH...ing to the choir!
I just picked up a BMW E90 335d last week. Lots of recent major maintenance records included. He just finished a walnut blast of the intake to deal with Carbon Build up. Thought the car was well maintained intil I opened the air box to find what might be the dirtiest air filter I have ever seen. Which led me to the…
Search for WLToys 144001. Less than $100 shipped with adjustable throttle to limit speeds. My 4 year old and I both love it! Beats my larger nitro trucks for a fun time without the mess...
This almost made me cry as a teenager who was not old enough to have a license yet and had spent 5x more on my RC than my first real car...(1985 Honda CRX for $300)
David, I loved the side by side photos, and surprisingly the undercarriages are nearly identical. It’s nice to know that between your J10 and the secret Mustang not everything you own is doomed a rusty death! Meant in the best possible way :)
As they did with the Escape 2.3 L about a decade ago. I miss my little 133 hp awd hybrid 2007 mercury mariner. It was the perfect midsize suv.
I laughed out loud and my wife gave me a funny look!
There is a lot of talk about minis recently. I recently sold my 2005 R53 JCW for about $6k. I brought it back from a non-running state to cross country ready. 200hp supercharged with a 6-spd and a LSD. 2679 lbs. It was a delight to drive and row my own.
My Mini R53 was just like this...except every night after the kids were in bed for weeks...it sucked. Drove like stink when it was all complete but that was a rough summer fixing the dumb car. Saved over $10k compared to the dealer quotes.
HiredHelp - Haha, my comment obviously came across wrong. If I made a $100k+ decision on a car it would be irrational and a poor decision. If someone rich, or with more disposable income than me, spent that on a car it might be rational. Maybe it is an investment.
Looks like whatever I did finally worked and to top it off, I received a reply from you! That is meant as a compliment.
