I think that’s a disingenuous take. It absolves the development team for introducing deep ideas they couldn’t —- or wouldn’t —- deal with in any significant manner. The game explicitly sets up a world where slavery exists in mass form; the game is responsible for then navigating that appropriately.

Sakaguchi has a great resume, but should we really be taking the word of someone who has *consistently* made terrible decisions and released his post-Square games on the worst possible hardware to be successful with each time, about this particular issue?

Except both products are already on the market competing, and iPhone ain’t winning.

tbf, “Our gaming division makes more money than our rival’s gaming division” doesn’t seem to matter to anyone.

Devil’s Advocate: “we make smarter acquisitions”

What? Those games are made by Sony studios. Bethesda was a 3rd party studio making games that were multiplatform for decades. Even if Xbox owns them now they were not XBOX games and those games would have 100% hit Playstation consoles.

It is clear you do not understand the entire point of this article.

Those sure are words.

Uh oh, it’s not cool to like Advent Children, haven’t you heard? The cringe warriors will be all over now for the sin of daring to speak positively of it.

But I will say that Advent Children feels like it completely embraced the common perceptions of the source material over the source material itself. Cloud will brood forever because that’s what the fans want.

There’s a lot in AC that doesn’t age very well in terms of direction and editing (it screamsearly 2000s action movie), but the core story, at least in the Complete edition, is actually pretty solid and I think underrated, or maybe just misunderstood.

That is about half the comments on the Fox New story right now.

An analogy to help people understand this situation:

It’s admittedly a lot stronger and the performances often feel more nuanced and less dry than the English. Is that just me?

Remake, Rebirth, Reunion. 110% behind this suggestion.

I think the confidence part you mentioned is exactly it.

A fun twist would be if they had an extremely elaborate high def video of a blonde woman riding a mech down a snow field. Then it cuts to the logo saying Final Fantasy VI, and after a while the X fades in.

Well, rather than just being a derp and offering an opinion nobody asked for on an article I didn’t have to read (which is that I really disliked 7R), I’ll instead say that I hope they consider important improvements to make the next one better, instead of just resting on what they did and leaving it as-is—because I

I don’t know man. As a guy who has played through FF7 some eight times and loves it to bits, FF7R is one of the best games I’ve ever played. Certainly better than the original in every conceivable way. The praise has been pretty universal from the people I’ve heard from.
