Good summary of what makes this game special. I always felt like FFIX was very much underrated, at least among people of my age whose first contact with the franchise was FFVII, probably due to getting used to the SciFi/cyberpunk styles of VII and VIII. I feel like it is, despite some issues, the most well-rounded of

I think of the rain the same as I think of the weapon durability: it’s a deliberate design choice that means the player has to adapt or utilize additional resources if they want to accomplish their goal. It’s a restriction on the player power fantasy, the assumption that you can just climb anything you want at any

It’s stuff like this that prevents me from entering a competitive environment in any game.

I have, for many years, maintained the truism that fighting with honor creates only a moral obligation to lose. If you cannot sort a route around your opponent’s tactics, that’s on you.  So long as the play was within established

My two seconds after reading this reply experience: miming jerking off while rolling my eyes.

At risk of sounding like a snob, I just kinda don’t see what the big fuss was. At a minimum I don’t find them as interesting as the stuff on my list or these honorable mentions. Which isn’t to say they’re bad (I thought GoW and Spider- Man in particular were really fun when I was playing them) but they didn’t stick

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Lab Circuit Puzzles

The problem with making it guaranteed is there is no guarantee that someone else wants to do what you want to do; the complaint would then change from “I a not getting the matches I want” to “I’ve been sitting in queue for 30 minutes and can’t play.”

Probably more Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and maybe try God of War again. But, man, am I glad that Red Dead 2 didn’t win best game last night. Because it’s got a great narrative, but the game latched onto it is pretty mediocre.

THIS ALL OF THIS. A+ COMMENT. When I am playing something like Dead Cells I am like... hey... this game is going to be seen as just as awesome in 10 years because the gameplay is great and the graphics are timeless. It was less expensive to make than that “AAA” game with ridiculous cut scenes, is more fun, and cost me

Definitely not alone! I want to play games that are fun, I don’t really care about graphics.

This feeling i’m feeling right now sucks. It feels like the video game industry is drfiting away from me, and video games is all I do.

So, the game is beautiful, tells a good story, is highly detailed, but isn’t fun? It wasn’t mentioned in the review article, but how much time was spent watching movie style/quick time event stuff vs. actual gameplay?

It’s like the systems were designed in isolation of one another”

Haha. I thought about using a different profile, but wiping for a completely fresh start so I can’t just say “eff it” and go back to the old one is half the point. I did indeed wipe it and you know what? I might be enjoying it more this time around. I dont have curiosity and hype pushing me to rush things this time,

I agree with you but the critics do not. I am still shocked they recognized the films with an Academy Award for Best Picture. Fellowship was the true best picture of the three, but the Academy wasn’t going to award the first of a fantasy genre a best picture. After three outstanding, epic movies, I suspect they had to

I attest that, if FFX-2 was a standalone game, in its own universe, with brand new characters, it would have been an irrefutable classic...

The reason why marriages where the woman makes more than her husband end more often has nothing to do with leagues and everything to do with bullshit issues with masculinity and who the “bread winner” is.

(Not to mention: so what happens when two women are married and one partner makes more than the other? Or two men?

How I wish for a Zelda game with an option or at least a scenario where you can mount and punch monsters.

See, when it comes to the fairy thing, that's weird because I'm pretty sure some characters in OoT call Link "Fairy Boy" and what with all of the actual fairies in these games...there's just better context for him being obsessed with fairies(not to mention wearing clothes not TOO far off from what Link is wearing)

I always play with it on. I think games look dull and washed out with it disabled and it's frequently a pretty cool effect.
