Listen, I get that this was eerie as hell, and it certainly felt like March 2020 all over again. But it’s not: yes, we were caught flat-footed by how contagious this is, but vaccinations are keeping it from being seriously dangerous. We’re well past the point where we can get Covid cases down to zero.

Yeah Jules Feiffer (who wrote the script) drew on a lot of the old comic strip. The guy who’s kicking his hat everywhere? That’s Ham Gravy, Olive Oyl’s original suitor.

This phenomenon was the only explanation I could come up with to understand how the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie was somehow being fondly remembered by bill-paying adults.

I rewatched Mrs Doubtfire a couple of years ago, and Robin Williams truly is a psychopath. I’ll give them credit for not making Pierce Brosnan’s character a complete asshole, which would have been the obvious choice.

My take away is that the kids who watched it have now grown up and are able to write fond memories and glowing reviews of the movie based on their childhood experiences.”

This happened so egregiously with Space Jam that they made a sequel.

Ha, when you think of it, that’s basically Mrs. Doubtfire. His wife leaves him and says something like all you need to do to see the kids is get a steady job. Instead of doing that, however, he creates this elaborate and dishonest ruse to be near the kids. Dude, just get a job, and poisoning Pierce Brosnan when you

The live-action Looney Toons version of “It’s a Good Life” is almost worth it.

I always thought it would be great to do a subversion where Adam Sandler or whoever regularly blows off work to be there for his kids and ends up getting fired, wrecking their lives for months. Eventually he gets a new job, and he says something like, “Son, I’ll be there for your Little League game, but I might not

It’s funny, I never liked it as a kid (TBS would play it constantly) But as an adult I came to appreciate it more. I really love the sets and general esthetic.

I think it’s a half good movie, half terrible movie.

Say what you will about Hook, least none of the cast got decapitated by a helicopter...

It’s a terrible movie and I won’t have any of this “Xennial” revisionist crap like Jesse alludes to like people insisting Hocus Pocus is actually a good movie because they saw it when they were 4.

I think the Ready Player One film is about the as good as a conventional adaptation of that book could be. There have been many stronger adaptations of Peter Pan than Hook (and some worse, to be fair).

Counterpoint: Spielberg made RPO better than it had any right to be.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and especially its soundtrack always manages to take me back to 2001. Looking back, that whole year was a murderer’s row of video game releases: Halo, Final Fantasy X, Gran Turismo 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Smash Bros Melee. I spent pretty much every waking moment playing

Lozzle doesn’t earn stars for those comments, but I will object slightly and say (from my RL sysadmin PoV): Get ye to Win10. You’ve had YEARS to do it, there are literally no downsides, and your system would handle it just fine. I’d even wager your issues could be stemming from that no-longer-getting-security-updates

I’m still trying to figure out why I bought a Switch and also why do I still have it.

I’ve had moments that had me shaking with excitement and adrenaline - it’s a sublime gaming feeling to warp in formation with your wing of 30 friendly stealth bomber pilots, land on top of an unsuspecting target, and bomb it to oblivion. It feels cool as hell to sit at a bookmark with your squad, waiting for orders to

The most fun I have with EVE is reading about it.   I tried.  I really tried to play.  But it was soooooo boring.

I love Elite Dangerous and still play it, but we’re not really in a great position to be casting stones or pointing fingers, man.
