I’m pretty sure there was a presidential candidate who specifically wanted to do something to stop companies from doing this kind of artificial price-gouging... but who’s to say. 

Nobody will remember that well before the election that inflation has returned to normal levels, wages were outpacing inflation by a decent amount, essentially making goods cheaper to buy, and the stock market was doing great and increasing the value of everyone’s retirement accounts.

That’s what a lot of companies do already to put some vague claim that their products are “made in the USA”. Everything comes in parts that the average person could probably do the final assembly on their own, and then put that Made in the USA sticker on it and ship it out. The slack-jawed yokels look at that sticker…

This is all so much like last time... Trump sending out a bunch of vague EOs that just causes more confusion than anything else because, even after 8 years, he still doesn’t know shit about how the government functions.
