It obviously wouldn’t be a solution for all cases, especially fast charge. But in a lot of cases, especially for people who are parked in garages or parking lots all day for work, L2 is plenty to top up your battery.

True but EV charging networks are still generally in their infancy, and many are plagued with crappy hardware that doesn’t work all the time. I say get rid of the chargers altogether and just replace with an outlet to plug into with the hardware in your car that is with you wherever you go. Some kind of payment system…

Definitely would be a L2 solution at best, but for many people that could be all they need. For me, it I just had a standard 15 amp 120v outlet available in my office garage I could get all the charging I ever need in the 9 hours I’m at work every day with the cord provided with my car.

Exactly! I’ve been saying forever we don’t need charging stations, we just need outlets. Get rid of the pricey buggy software and the wire theft issues in one shot! You would still need to work out some kind way to have people pay, but the kind of hardware is much more mature and robust.
