I’m no fan of Mr Penn, but the Madonna allegations were a joke from the beginning and she herself has denied them. In real life,if you tie someone to a chair and beat them with a baseball bat, they will die.

This is the same Sean Penn who was famously accused of being violently abusive toward Madonna when the two were married, so it makes sense that he might not be overly fond of a trend that involves making a conscious effort to trust and support the women and men making accusations of abuse.
I think they are super talented this year and things will be different. They will piss away a win due to poor clock management in the AFC championship this year, instead of a round earlier.
Don’t know the context of this person’s comment around raising boys, but masculinity and expectations of boys and men is at the heart of the issue. Unless you subscribe to some sort of essentialism as to why men and boys are almost exclusively the perpetuators of these kinds of assaults and murders, a large part of…
Richard Spencer (punch a Nazi today) & his demon protege Stephen Miller (I truly hope he catches a bullet today 🙏🏻) purposely chose a a commonly known hand gesture as to allow thier bottom feeding Nazi followers a way to use it in public and then giving them plausible deniability to gaslight the public when they are…
Yeah there’s zero ambiguity there. Can’t say he was giving a nonverbal okay to someone off camera. It was clearly the alt right/white power version. Also shows how racism and stupid often go hand in hand. He could have held his hand up like he was non verbally responding to someone off camera and given himself…
“Haha neglecting my children is hilarious! He was wandering around and I didn’t even notice it because I was playing video games and talking to people on the internet! Kids these days, amirite?”
Regulations regarding how Twitch sells the opportunity to operate on their platform are a thing I would welcome—and find necessary, honestly.
That said, I do feel there’s a level of “streamer beware” that should go into this whole thing. It may be uncharitable of me, but at what point do we hold people accountable for…
I’d really love to see the numbers of how many twitch streamers actually make a viable living off of their streams. As Mortal Dictata pointed out, the issue really comes down to the fact that the VAST majority of streamers think this can support their families when it’s nearly impossible.
“My one-year-old son actually walked in and sneakily turned my PC off during a stream, and my community still laughs about it.”
Its almost like they are self employed. Oh wait they are. As someone that has been self employed for 18 years I can tell you no one owes you anything. I have to take care of my own taxes, medical insurance, retirement plan, and no paid vacations or sick leave. Disney is one of my clients and they don’t owe me a thing.…
This.
“But I make money from it, therefore it is a job, therefore I deserve benefits!”
Benefits are derived from employers that set aside funds to pay for those benefits. Twitch is not an employer—it is a platform through which independent contractors (streamers) can sell a product (their streams) in the hope of turning…
I may work on Youtube rather than Twitch but the principles apply - when somebody asks me what they should do to be succesful/have a career on the platform my first piece of advice is always... don’t. It’s going to get worse and worse as the current generations of teens grow up thinking it’s a viable career when…
More like, bad time management and no exercise is bad for your health. Whodathought?
Personally I get the streaming and the watching. I still think that it’s extremely risky to rely on streaming as your only source of income, though. If streaming is someone’s passion, then by all means stream, do what what makes you happy. But put some serious thought into the realities of streaming as a…
Sounds like a lot of the issue here is they think on some level this is just a job, such as the whole “maternity leave” comment. Even if there was mandated maternity leave in the US like in the UK they still wouldn’t be entitled to it like they seem to think.
It seems like people look at streaming, youtube, etc. as a “Hey I can be a celebrity and get rich without trying” gig. There are tons of talentless people that have gotten rich quick doing this, but they still put in hours. Being a public figure in any capacity requires effort. I feel like it’s people who don’t want…
Being a working parent is...hard? Who knew! Also, Hella privilege on display here.
Where can I buy one of them water repelling circles like that lady has?!
A 12 Year-old ?
