Yeah, it was basically “he talks the same way I talk” and “he hates the same people I hate” that got him their vote.

“He seems smart” wasn’t exactly what people told me. If I was stuck listening to a Trump supporter, it was usually, “Isn’t it refreshing that he doesn’t speak like a politician?” Or that he’s “more like me”. Note that smart or experience wasn’t a consideration.

Very few thought “he seems smart.”  Most thought, “fuck Hillary Clinton.”

Think of the average person, and then realize that 1/2 of the people are dumber than that. It is absolutely 0 surprise a quarter of the adults in this country are dumb enough to vote for Trump.

We were close enough to see the players, and when I saw Tom Brady walk by on the field, I booed him.

Well thankfully I was deployed to Afghanistan when they won the Super Bowl. I wasn’t even able to watch the game. I’m not going to say that it was worth being away from my wife and kids for an extended period of time but...you know...silver linings.
