I used Grubhub for a few months, but I always ordered for pickup. I stopped because the last time I used it was at a Nick the Greek near my house that had their prices clearly displayed on the menu board. Needless to say, they were lower than what I’d paid through Grubhub.

That and Ross didn’t make an empire built off putting his signature on other artists work.

Bob Ross > Thomas Kincaid.

Generally speaking, I don’t get too bent out of shape when there’s a 2,000-word essay about the genesis of the recipe, or maybe some variations on the base recipe (e.g., here’s a way to make this dish and have it taste just as good, but now with only 15g of fat!), stuff like that.

It’s a pity that 95% of the recipe blogs I stumble across don’t actually have a voice that’s distinctive the way Smitten Kitchen’s is, it’s more just a lot of sentences about liking healthy ingredients with exclamation marks after them.

Anyway, I do find these sorts of blogs annoying, but it doesn’t take too long to

It ABSOLUTELY is. You just fully accept one side’s view as correct.

I mean, I should just kill your family, burn down your house, and force you to move to some other place where you have no idea what’s happening and then do the same shit for your kids (if you have any after that).

I’m sure as you were typing this it felt like you were making a salient point but 1) your anecdote is just that and therefore not pertinent on its own to the topic at hand 2) lumping all American Indians/Indigenous Americans/Native Americans and their motivations and needs under one label based on your anecdote is

You could argue they’ve earned the right if anyone has, but that wasn’t the people here now and the problems they face are more directly the result of their own mismanagement.”

Bull fucking shit. Indigenous people have been fucked by the US government time and time again. And when they do manage to become successful

“victim card”
“it’s basically their own fault”

You’re the hero of your Proud Boys chapter.

This is racist.

You are a racist.

this is monumentally stupid, even for an internet message board.

It most certainly is a negotiation. I’ve worked with an Indian tribe and they’ve become very adept at playing the victim card. Usually it’s a shakedown for a payout; then they start to infighting over which of their own factions get it. See casinos, Keystone XL Pipeline, literally any government social program and now

I’m not sure I see how this is a negotiation. The Cherokee Nation leaders have made it clear to Jeep/Stellantis that they do NOT feel honored by this; Jeep keeps repeating that they’re continuing to “honor and celebrate” the Cherokee people by using the name. Jeep absolutely can call their product whatever they want

If Jalopnik asks you a question, Lawrence will make it into a slide show.

This is the worst use of a slideshow.

Here’s the top reasons you said you hate discussions summarized as a slideshow.

Soooo...the same reason they want you to write about their swag?

Well, basically, it’s exactly what you might suspect: free advertising.
