This also happens to me with really long games. I’d say if after fifty hours of main quests I still haven’t beat the game without grinding side quests I start getting impatient and start rushing around, using fast travels and even looking up guides for quests with the best rewards to help me progress.

I was just thinking that sounds like a very Japanese thing to do. It worked for the first guy sixty years ago, so let’s emulate his model and not innovate because that’s how we’ve done it for sixty years.
