That’s a serious oversimplification of the trolley problem. The purpose of the trolley problem in it’s original formulation was to illustrate the problems with consequentialism, not to endorse it.

Well if I’m to understand the commenters from last week regarding self driving running stop signs, Tesla has to allow the cars to hit stuff occasionally, because that’s what real drivers do.

The first car I really drove was a Grand Prix GTP, and it’s still one of the best big cars I ever drove. My first manual transmission car was a Pontiac Sunfire, and that thing was not only bulletproof but had a surprisingly pleasant clutch.
