The scenario you outline is a tiny fraction of actual miles motorcycles are used for, the world over. Most miles are commuter miles, especially in urban areas. Bitching about weekend blasts is like bitching about car capabilities on track days. They get a lot of ink, but aren’t representative.

That’s...not a bad take by Hachigo at all. He’s right that there are numerous hurdles to an EV replacing a gas-powered car at this time, and it’s not something that looks primed to change within the next decade barring an unprecedented investment into global infrastructure.

Maybe one of the largest and most successful carmakers on Earth sees more value in delivering reasonably-priced products with mass appeal over competing with Pedoman and his magical tent cars by blowing R&D on expensive pseudo-luxury EVs in a niche market.

I’m not sure electric cars are a thing either. They seem to have a very niche market. They attract a very niche customer. And more importantly, they only fit into a niche lifestyle.
