I did read the article, but those are companies that delve deeply into the systems of cars, but not the ground up development of whole cars. I stand by my statement. Sony thinks they’ll run the show and “outsource the easy part” to those folks over there. We’ve seen this exact model before. 

Mine is a little smaller, lighter and half the power. Maybe a third the power.
