Yeah, when I saw the numbers initially I assumed they didn’t include land. After reading, and seeing this was supposed to include a plot of land, it absolutely has to be averages statewide. This is indeed quite unrealistic to about 88% of Americans.

The problem is in the math though. The same $350,000 home in the above example costs a borrower an extra $700/mo this year than it would have just a year ago. In areas where homes cost $350k, rent has not gone up by $700.
