So proud of these kids. It gives me hope for the future of our country, which in these dark days is much, much appreciated.

How dare these kids presume that their right to not be shot is more important than my right to shoot at them?

I was there in the crowd, just by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I’ve never seen anything like it. There was easily over three-quarters of a million people there. And all of them listened to these amazing kids with respect.

I’m more proud to be an American than I’ve been in a long minute. This gives me so much hope.

Holy lord, those kids. Best of luck to all of them.

One of my favorite things I’ve seen recently... , a ... Dick ... , makes a rich canvas ... to compensate for some of its ... shortcomings. ... it stars ... an American naval officer ... out of uniform on shore ... but still eccentric, ... a couple of schoolboys peeing ... straight into a sex scene. Who would argue with anything related to “Clap Hands”? That song fuckin’ owns.

Your meta-review is solid but workmanlike. Three stars.

This review is merciless and I love it! Two thumbs up!

This could work if they had the same kind of twist ending like the Twilight Zone episode of the same name. So the guy would wake up from a dream, horrified to realize he has an incredibly healthy, hideous girlfriend with an early curfew.

Cut this shit out, Hollywood.

I’ll go to bat for Mellon Collie. I never got Adore when it came out and still am not missing it, though Eye, which is on the Lost Highway soundtrack and probably came from those sessions, is a quality song.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Whereas I’m thinking of that old Onion article “Dumb kid chokes and ruins awesome toy for everyone”, because I love my movie theater footrests.

This is why i never date. Too risky.

Planet of the Apes is good, despite some flaws. It definitely courts camp, with the apes having lines like “I never met an ape I didn’t like” and the judges doing the “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil” pose, but that was a style of the time- the whole self-aware pop art approach.

Self-serving (sorta) fun fact: My cousin wrote that episode. It may be the thing I’m most proud of that a family member did and I have WWII vets in the distance past.

“I hate every ape I see, from chimpan-A to chimpanzee”

I’ve always thought that the Puzo novel was a great story, poorly told. Coppola (working with Puzo) knew how to get the best parts out of it and cut out the unnecessary stuff.

To me, the greatest disparity between movie and book is the Bourne Identity. The movie is a great, tense action thriller. The book is poorly written and very boring. How a chess match between two master assassins can be written in a boring way is beyond me, but here we are. Worse, Bourne physically and psychologically
