Yeah this, basically, plus the ability of the corps to be seen as a single unified group (which is why there was such a preference toward white dancers in ballet, among many other systemic issues that excluded POC.) The thing is, if you have a dark skinned dancer next to a light skinned dancer, having them in the same

I’m sure an actual dancer will answer this better, but my understanding is that the tights and shoes are supposed to contribute to the illusion of a long leg line. Or something like that. Never danced ballet in my life!

I can’t get over how this is just NOW happening. I can’t remember if I read it or heard it over a podcast but I recently I learned that stores like Wal-Mart and Target haven’t always carried hair products for African-Americans; apparently they just started selling them nationwide less than ten years ago. Like, what

STOP! You can’t write the rules down! They must be vague, arbitrary, and specific to every different situation, location, and denomination so that when a girl or woman inevitably puts a foot wrong, the people in charge can say “It’s not our fault you didn’t know your outfit would outrage the old folks/distract the

I thought that dress was an odd choice because it seemed more cocktail than meteorologist, but not because her scandalous shoulders were showing.

I remember when Target released some big designer at significantly discounted prices and lines were out the door only for people to get there to have almost everything swooped up by re-sellers.

Ticketmaster/Stubhub is legit one of the worst things that ever happened to live entertainment. It’s a hellspawn of supply/demand models that screws over everybody. Im glad LMM and the Hamilton producers are trying to take it on.

It’s opening a semi-permanent outpost in Chicago next year. Simultaneously as they put a touring company on the road. It’s ambitious as hell, but LMM is nothing less than committed to making the show accessible to those who otherwise wouldn’t have much of an option.

People who resell shit at absurd markups are the worst. Broadway tickets, limited clothing releases, when new Nike’s drop, etc...

And that, ladies and gentleman, is how LaComtesse finally scored a ticket for Novemeber*. Now, if you’ll excuse me...

It’s Broadway: lots of out-of-town groups organize theatre trips to the city, and so buy bulk for the group, sometimes buying multiple tickets to multiple shows so that everyone can see something.

The Cancellation Line Policies seem legitimate to me. Especially that if you get the tickets you must then proceed into the show...

“I was quoting this guy that I made up for the purposes of this discussion, and his only important characteristics are that he is (1) a guy (2) at the end of the bar and (3) virulently racist.”

Whew! I’m so glad he feels ok about using a racial slur on live television. I was really worried. Wouldn’t want him to be embarrassed or anything, right? /s

In Rep King’s case, I’d say “the fat fuck at the end of the bar”, not Mick.

Listen... He was quoting the asshole at the end of the bar who just happens to be himself.

He must have been so pissed that we don’t have a go-to slur for Korean people.

He said it's okay to use Mick because there isn’t a word that insults white people.

I had one of those when I got my tubes tied. It was awesome.

This is why I want to buy my sister a really big deal housewarming present for her new condo. It’s the first house she’s purchased which huge on its own but she’s also 33 and happily single/child free* so she hasn’t had any of those parties.

*I don’t think she’s opposed to getting married/having kids but she’s not
