3 digit upvotes?! Whoa easy there sir. What do you think this is, pre-kinja AV Club?

Good to see some Slowdive shout outs, but still no mention of my other top 2: Xiu Xiu and Great Grandpa. Surprised at the everyone forgetting Xiu Xiu, since critic are usually on board with his stuff, and this was one of his best efforts.

I actually liked S2, mostly because the last few episodes were so strong. It definitely started out weakly though, and kind of struggled to find a reason for existing.

I assume you’re thinking of Lost Crusade, but man that one has just never clicked with me. It feels too bloated, especially with the tedious young Indy section in the beginning. But I’m also a Temple of Doom apologist, so what do I know? For me it’s:

This review isn’t even contrarian...he gave it a C, which if nudged a little bit probably would go into Fresh territory. How many of those 96% fresh ratings are just B- grades? This is why RT is such a shitty metric... I don’t understand why people treat it like gospel.

Yeah this is how I feel...Civ6 just doesn’t look different enough from Civ V to warrant a big purchase, and I’m still a tad bit hungover from my 350 hours in V (which I know is small fries compared to some). When the definitive edition comes out, with all expansions included, I’ll probably bite. But I can wait another

I ended up falling behind when it was airing, and watched many of the episodes in 2-3 chunk installments. I think it does smooth out some of the clunkier bits, but I will never be convinced that the show wouldn’t have been better with say 12-15 episodes and a tighter focus. I’d say the same thing about S2 also.

Yeah, I can’t hate either of them because I love the Beatles too much. But both songs have the potential to be insufferable.

Man, “Baby Please Come Home” is probably my all-time favorite Christmas song, but I could see it getting grating on too many repeat listens.

The 90s were already chock-full of dream SW games... X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Jedi Knight series, that SW Age of Empires II re-skin. They just need an independently-operating company like Lucas Arts again, full of people who are actually passionate about the subject matter, not an EA-Disney braintrust thats looking to

Give the man a break...he’s probably used to his butler finding, unscrewing, and holding up his fiji water for him to sip at.

My least favorite part of Witcher 3 too. Oh goody, ANOTHER set of red footprints to follow into a forest?

I honestly don’t think it much matters what the doctor wears...people cling to details like a long scarf or a fez or whatnot, but the only reason they care are if the scripts are good.

Yeah this was a great finale...actually I’m surprised how well they stuck the landing, because that’s usually the achilles heel for mystery/sci-fi shows. Maybe because ST at heart is more of an 80s dramedy than true sci-fi... it’s always been a bit weak at the sci-fi/horror elements. But it does character and setting

From a monster point of view, I have no idea where they’ll go with S3 onward. I suspect the Upside-Down and the Mind Flayer will always be the driving force that connects the show.

Honestly, there’s no reason he should lose. So his victory would be normal, while his defeat would be another sign that 2017 is a total shit fiesta.

Back in my day, we didn’t need any of them fancy spoiler tags...

I think it’s trending towards being more little-kid friendly (and towards being more protected in general, just like parenting has the past few decades), but I still saw a decent number of trick-or-treating gangs out in the dark last night.

Hah...I remember that boss being the end of my SH playthrough. Not that moths are that scary for me, but I was totally out of ammo by then, and that fucker just demolished me.

It would be useless, I’m afraid. All the editorial choices for a long time now have made it very clear that they aren’t interested in what the commentariat thinks. They just want the pageviews.
