Not every detective mystery is noir though. Granted I haven't seen Terriers, but unless Veronica became a heavy drinker in later seasons, I can't really picture that being too noir-ish.

I have read Chandler (and in the middle of Farewell my Lovely) now, which is why I have a hard time picturing a modern adaptation. One of the biggest stumbling blocks are his awesome similes, which would sound laughable coming out of most modern actors. Still, thinking of Dominic West in a Marlowe part…I don't think I

what if someone says their creepy uncle raped their childhood. is that okay?

Yeah that scene was bizarrely unnecessary. Other than that, the Bespin updates weren't that bad. My big issue with Empire is how they redid the Wampa scene. The original gave me nightmares for weeks as a child. It was perfect.

I kind of think it is also a dumb idea. Marlowe and the noir genre is so a part of its time. I'm also automatically repelled by the phrase "sexy and stylish"

Yes, it is fantastic and timeless. Also, seeing the D Plan in one of the shows on their "farewell" tour in 2007 was equally great.

CSI

LttP also shares the majority of its features with Zelda 1. Both games (OOT, LttP) are kind of a graphical overhaul of the previous game with a few new mechanics thrown in (hookshot, dark world//collecting skulls, horse).

The term RPG is kind of like MOBA (ie both useless). Call of Duty could easily be called a MOBA if you're being literal.

I'm more of a Lennon (and bowl smoking) fan, but some of McCartney's old time songs like Martha and Honey Pie are pretty great

I'd also like to really see the game. With the artwork and characters LOL uses, it could be pretty awesome.

Yes, thank you for pointing this out! "The effect, which attempts to create a visual analogue to Faulkner’s famously un-filmable prose"… this effect is not an analogue at all, unless Faulker's pov shifts were interlinear or something. If anything, any traditional film that covers multiple perspectives, like say

I….definitely feel old now. And I'm only 31.

Yeah it at least guarantees a netflixing for me. The first one was pretty entertaining on the basis of its cameos/badass side characters too.

plus, if you actually talk about the song on twitter whatever do you then have to out two hashtags in front of the song?

But they were all pretty bland, so that isn't saying much..

Decent list overall. Thank you for not taking a dump on Temple of Doom which I've loved since childhood and will continue to defend til I'm senile

Agreed on both counts. My only issue with Tintin was that ridiculous final action scene but otherwise it was quite good.

Its sappy but pretty good otherwise.
