He didn’t do that though, that is your own projection. He didn’t say that there can’t be aggressive women out there, or soft-spoken men. He spoke of energies or qualities and he did not express that idea that each gender only displays either one of those qualities.

I actually respect this sentiment very much, and do agree with it to a great extent. This has been something I felt since being a little girl and felt unable to articulate it properly. He sounds a bit childish for saying that too, but translate it into an academic talk:

I don’t want to be the pessimist here, but this is exactly how I felt months and weeks before the Brexit referendum. Though the terrible campaign was over, what came after is even worse...

no, you are authoritarian asshole for thinking you can rule the streets while being racist and sexist. Also, you as a perpetrator don’t get to decide what’s threatening. The victim decides that, dude :)

she’s fierce and beautiful!

omg how fortunate you are. Every human’s life lacks purpose with a cat overlord.

omg yes! this should be a thing totally EVERYWHERE!! We should all worship cats, let them take over and the world would be a better place.

wau. He’s not very bright, is he.

we just had a massive scandal in Slovakia. The deputy leader of the Slovak parliament, which happens to be a female, and which happened to be a pregnant female, had to endure public mansplaining from the male leader of the Slovak parliament and some other MPs, who kindly pointed out to her that she should stay at home

something = woman in your equation. Says enough about you. That something is a person and as such, deserves to be treated as one. Work on that, dude.

I agree. I think USA is also way more patriarchal and sexist than the UK. It’s reflected in the American mass culture as well as its political discourse. I mean compare UK’s and USA’s conservative parties. I think lot of the stuff that American politicians say such as Mitt Romney’s binders full of women and many more

because of how deeply normalised these attitudes are. I honestly think that Laura Bates’ Everyday Sexism project in its glorious simplicity highlighted this issue, and some parts of society are finally willing to listen.

yes women walking the streets, as if they were human! Who would want such a society!

I’m an Eastern European immigrant living in the UK, and I have to say things are a bit uneasy after the Brexit. However, this initiative is great.

this should be a compulsory watching in schools and yes, on the TV.

yet, they grow out of the same thing - hate. Hence the name hate crime / hate offence.

catcalling is a derogatory activity, in the same way a racists could tell racist jokes in front of a non-white person. Both would fall under the category of a hate crime/offence. Hate crime does not necessarily needs to be a violent murder.

wolf-whistle is derogatory unsolicited behaviour toward a woman, which can also be perceived as threatening and often leads to insults, if the victim fails to respond in a way that offender expects. So yes, by definition this would fall under the category of hate crime or at least an offence. Hope your little brain
