If they lap the field three times and win - it still counts? :-)

Given that all four of the RBPT drivers are churning through engines at roughly the same pace, it would imply something else is up that is causing them to go early.
The ones that haunt me are the Dan Wheldon, Justin Wilson and 24 Hours of LeMans Aston Martin driver (I forget his name) crashes. All within a few years of each other. Those 3 almost put me off from racing because it made me question whether I was essentially watching a blood-sport.
It’s like getting “Life plus 40 years” in prison.
This one has always stuck with me (‘98 JGTC at Fuji)
The Rick Mears Indy 500 fire is pretty haunting. Dude was on fire but no one could tell because methanol burns nearly invisible in day light. It was parodied in Talladega nights but IMO that was kind of messed up.
I’ve previously outlined the most significant crashes in motorsport history...
all that goes away when you realize that another human being isn’t walking away from the wreck because they’re either seriously injured or dead.
Oh believe me, that’s at the top of the list for weird little project ideas in my head for years... if I actually had the time for it. 5.3's of that era are legendary and plentiful.
Here’s a notion, don’t operate your vehicle beyond your ability to control or capacity to comprehend your surroundings on the track and don’t operate your vehicle beyond the imposed law on the street. And never race* a vehicle you can not afford the lose.
Looks more like he was grinding on the track, rolling on the wall.
Look where you want to go. Not the wall coming up .. you body has a good tendency to go where you look
It’s much easier to be overconfident on a track than the street, since on the street, you need to keep some spare change for traffic, unseen obstacles, cops, etc, so people almost never push their fast car near what it can do. People get to the track and think they can finally do a full send.
The fact that that Camaro was “racing” a Miata with a tiny fraction of the power really highlights how out of their depth the Camaro driver was.
To all the people that complain about taking their fast cars to tracks because it’s expensive, or too far and instead want to drive fast on public roads: this is why.
Man I love Spectator Drags at short tracks, let idiots in their own cars be idiots in a safe controlled environment for all to enjoy!
I’m surprised it understeered that much, but it looks to be a semi banked corner that flattens out on the outside...Yea he took the corner too wide where it flattened out and induced understeer, he had enough space to turn in much earlier.
At least the person who probably thought they could learn to race a car by watching enough F&F movies did it on a track rather than in the street.
Ever year for my middle management job at my company I have to complete a survey declaring whether or not I have any business dealings or investment with any company competitors. If I did, I would probably face serious questions from the company and could possibly lose my job or forced to take a lower level position.
Man that’s a proper GMT400 right there.
