I don’t think he’s blaming it on the game at all. But gaming addiction is a real problem for certain people, driven by underlying causes that need to be addressed. That’s his point.

But they have to hammer public relations harder than anyone else. Look at what they are up against. If they succeed, they are a huge threat to entrenched automakers, oil companies, you name it. Huge players are going to work extremely hard to try to squash them. Musk is smart to play it the way he is, even if it…
I side with Musk on this one. Tripp sounds a whole lot like a few people I’ve had to let go from my office over the years. They walk out the door angry about their entire experience with the company and start citing all the “mistakes” and “unfair decisions” we’ve made over the years and imply they have cause to go…
I 100% agree. Too much is at stake.
I’m not sure about this person (whether she was asleep, unconscious, or what). But I did witness a Tesla employee barely paying attention while behind the wheel of a Model S in that same general area (I-680 in Sunol, near Fremont) about a year ago. It was in fairly slow traffic, so I suppose the risk was less, but the…
I’ve got to disagree with most of you. Adaptive cruise and lane keeping, on certain vehicles with well-designed implementations, can make driving in many scenarios easier and more relaxing (once you take the time to get accustomed to them). It is NOT self-driving and is not claimed to be. They are ASSIST features. I’m…
Let’s be honest here. Driving skills are already at rock-bottom and a commercial isn’t going to change that. Really only two things are going to fix bad driving: (1) Much more intense drivers training and licensing requirements; or (2) Full autonomous driving capabilities. I’m all for #1 but getting voters behind that…
Negotiate by email. Cast a wide net (100+ miles). Take the lowest quote you get and shop it round and round until they will go no lower. When you walk in the door, the deal is already done (except the finance department will push hard to sell you an extended warranty - prepare yourself for that - and that price is…
All the factors need to be examined and reported, but next time it won’t be someone on drugs. It’ll be a mom with a stroller.
I was going to debate with you on your comment but took a second look at the circumstances (the iPad she was required to monitor) and must say I agree. She appeared to be doing the job that was assigned to her. Uber messes up bad here.
I fully support development of self driving technology. I see many benefits. I badly wish I could buy a Tesla. I just picked up a 2018 Accord and use adaptive cruise and lane keeping all the time, and I do so responsibly.
My thoughts on the matter:
Agreed. Viable electric cars that just happen to accelerate like supercars.
Good luck with that. Once VR gets really good and goes mainstream, your kids are going to find staring at monitors rather archaic.
Fair answer. And given that, Autopilot makes a whole lot less sense for you. Though it still can take the edge off long highway drives. For the rest of us, having the car help with the endless stop and go of traffic makes a pretty huge improvement to the driving experience.
How much of your daily drive to work and back each day is actually enjoyable?
Yeah but those don’t have to maneuver in parking lots.
That interior looked absolutely amazeballs when I was 12 and the show was still airing, and now it looks fucking ridiculous.
I bet you Musk will include a KITT voice Easter egg just for shits and giggles.
That’s not it.
