I’m going to reread Frum’s piece since I totally could’ve missed something.

It seems like you see supporting tighter immigration in any form (and to be clear, I mean immigration, not the US accepting refugees) as fascist. Is that a fair reading?

I think there’s some projection there, though (or perhaps there’s not and I’m being overly generous to Frum’s piece.) I think when Burneko jumps from Frum saying politicians on the center or left should address concerns about immigration (or whatever the issue is) to ‘embrace fascism to fight fascism,’ he’s making a…

What I got from that section of his piece was that he sees a segment of voters who are preoccupied with the effects of immigration and that those concerns/fears can be easily exploited by fascist if they aren’t addressed. And by addressed, I don’t mean given in to.

No big deal. I typed up a few shitty responses to you before i reread my post and realized that I hadn’t made myself clear. The way I wrote it doesn’t spell out that I was just poking at there being no great choices, historically speaking, for third world countries seeking outside help. 

Yikes. I made a sarcastic observation about how well trusting Russia or China could go. It wasn’t an attack on you. 

Ah, yes, trusting Russia and China is the smart move because there’s no recent history of those countries doing awful shit to the poor and marginalized people under their power. 

The only thing about this that I don’t like is that apparently Larson was able to hand pick the person who interviewed her? That seems like a bad way for the editorial department to assign interviewers. Entertainment mags could solve this by hiring more diverse staffs.
