Yeah, if she wasn’t going to do any research she should’ve pitched to one of the GMG sites.

You seem like an asshole.
I don’t get it but it does provide occasional absurdities like this:
This seems like the kind of idea an undercover cop would suggest to an activist group.
100%. Redistricting should not be a prize to be won by whichever party is in power. It makes it way to easy for the most craven politicians (in this case, Republicans, universally) to truly fuck (an already damaged) democratic process.
How about instead of merely bitching about the failings of the media you guys do some reporting and show the rest of the media how its done?
“I’m such a good person because I don’t eat Chik-Fil-A”
Why do your Pew links point to something published December 2017?
Oh for sure and like I said in another comment the woman who said she’s in politics because its a calling from god frustrates me to no end.
I don’t think it has to be everyone’s job all the time, you know? Like I think we all pick and choose who we engage with and when we do so. Maybe these women aren’t worth engaging with to you. In my mind that doesn’t mean that you aren’t the kind of person who would listen and engage...this just isn’t the particular…
Yeah, I know this place goes nuts when someone suggests that tone or civility matter but...they kinda do, imo. Lashing out feels great but it doesn’t really help even if you’re lashing out from a morally just place. (And that’s fine! Not everything has to be helpful,)
I can totally believe that their classmates’ reactions run from normal disagreement and mocking to gleefully dickish and maybe even cruel. I don’t feel all that bad for them since I think their politics, inasmuch as they express them, are pretty shitty. But I was also a politically involved and overly strident college…

Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I know a little about the law (enough to know I need to always ask questions) but immigration and deportation specifics are not something I know about.
Per the press release: She could’ve walked away with no jail time and two years of community supervision for pleading guilty (to a ‘crime’ that she basically admitted to committing.)
Yeah, it’s kind of a weird old man move but, who cares? It’s a harmless goodbye from a dude who was publicly gracious in his loss (minus the rumors that he wasn’t stepping away from the ticket, which amounted to nothing.)
Doxxing is bad. Doxxing yourself and your ‘leadership’ is the most perfect self-own and I could not be happier that it happened to these jackasses. It’s like an early Christmas/*insert gift holiday here* present.
This is not the list of links to Splinter articles I was looking for.
I wish there was a more robust civics education program in this country. I adhere to the “vote with the candidate you agree with most” mantra even when “agree with most” means I largely disagree with both candidates, but to differing extents. But if you don’t feel that voting is your job is a citizen its so easy to…
