Huh, so removing all experts (and i mean docs, midwives, doulas, nurses, etc) from a potentially deadly situation isn’t a great idea?

nope, its not. but everything about this article is lighthearted and dumb (in the best possible way.) It’s about gorging on shrimp and making dumb jokes about how to maximize one’s ability to (physically) feel like shit later. To get shrimp drunk, if you will.

I am horrified.

[sense of humor not found]

Yeah, she’s not my favorite but I think we could do worse (...please don’t prove me wrong, Pelosi.)

The current top thread in the comments’ section definitely killed more than a handful of my few remaining braincells.

I think that’s 100% fair and a good chance for me to clarify: I don’t mean that compromise is ideal or what Pelosi’s 1st priority should be going in. There’s so much they can accomplish on their own.

I think I’m going to wait a week or two and see what Pelosi and the D’s do with the majority before I get this pessimistic/pissed at them. I have some amount of faith in the House to do some good (even if it comes with compromise, which I know is a dirty word around here but I’m not going to rule it out entirely.)

Yup. I was thinking of CANarchy and the Southern Tier/Victory partnership as examples.

We’re just about the same age. I’m cautiously optimistic that we’ll see more primary challenges from the left and that voter engagement will continue to increase. But for me, anyway, the key word there is cautiously.

*Double Post, my bad*

Yup, this echoes my concerns exactly. I think calling it a “bubble” probably isn’t the right way to phrase it but I think there will be some market correction in areas with an overabundance of breweries.

I guess I was just thinking that incumbents tend to do pretty well when a large portion of voters and people are so apathetic and I’d rather those incumbents stay blue (unless they are terrible.) But yeah, in the near future, I think you’re spot on.

Oh for sure. I just wish they wouldn’t have lost 3 seats, though gaining 1 softens that.

I’ve never eaten at a Red Lobster but, last night, half-drunk and anxiously watching the midterm results I saw a commercial for this. In that moment, I wanted pounds of goddamn shrimp. I wanted to drown in shrimp. This morning, I think i’d be content with just eating pounds of shrimp.

This was the victory I was looking for from the midterms. I’m happy the D’s took back the house and a little disappointed about the GOP flipping 3 senate seats but I’m content with the positive outcomes from the midterms.

I’m choosing to look on the bright side and this will be my takeaway.

Okay but what if I substituted the cake for whiskey, the baking for ‘sitting alone in a dark room,’ and the sharing cake with others for ‘drinking alone?’

So the content of all these fliers is as terrible as i expected but (minus the Ohio list of good things democrats might do) the quality and design isn’t as terrible as I would’ve thought.

I consistently agree with you and, yet, find you insufferable. I’d be annoyed if I wasn’t so impressed.
