"conquering another planet would be unnecessary" - but so much fun !

I don't know, people love shooting things that try to run away.

Liquid water maybe? I mean sure Europa has more water than Earth but it's under 60 something miles of ice. Their mere presence here on Earth would probably the stun the world in such a way that no one would dare say no to them sucking up a ton of water.

There's the possibility that they're wraiths looking for a new feeding ground... or goaul'ds looking to enslave us and dominate as gods...

You still don't see any harm? I guess you chose your handle pretty well :3 ;-)

This also assumes all the aliens are benevolent. All it takes is one asshole alien who wasn't loved by his parents to come here and fling a few asteroids at us and make a catastrophic mess for everyone.

Lighten up, Francis.

There's a milfverse? Well there's gotta be a DILFverse....

In arizona, a very small almost translucent sand-colored one known as a "bark scorpion" will put you in the hospital. That guy's an idiot. Rule of thumb for scorpions — big claws, little tail, the sting ain't that bad. Small claws, big tail? Keep away.

I turned 9 in 1984 but I had 5 older siblings so I was exposed to just about every pop culture trend from that time period at a very early age. Good decade to come of age in. No bike helmets, cool toys in Happy Meals and no helicopter parents. Cheers, amigo.

What's up, Elon?!!?

I'm looking forward to seeing what Abrams does with them myself. My biggest concern is losing (for lack of a better term) the "feel" of the Star Wars universe... That being said, Abrams has shown his ability to emulate directorial styles.

Since you kind of alluded to it I'll just come out and say it. George Lucas just isn't a very good director. He's an amazing world builder and broad-strokes story writer, but he just doesn't have that intangible skill to get a good performance out of actors or for writing dialogue. Taken objectively, Ep. IV has acting

I thought Star Gate Universe was great, I'd definitely pay to see more live action stories of SGU.

Well, The Birds is also being developed by Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay and Brad Fuller's company...

This should be a movie. Like, they can make a giant train that runs through a dystopian future where the world is covered in show and the only human survivors are on board. And they're strictly divided by class, with the poor living in horrible conditions and the rich living in luxury. Then the poor can try to take

Melancholia?

Crazy Town.

We would have seen it by now with several probes launched to the outer planets that have looked back at Earth.

the problem is it's designed for one single computation task and we have never before had a quantum computing design, there is no way to go inside the chip dissecting it while it's working to prove it's a quantum device, the way that's being proven is by testing it and checking the results/ comparing to simulations
